Description
During moments of passion lovers unite as if they have one single mind.Sculpture in serpentine. About 30 x 25 x 20 cm.
Base in belgian blue stone.
Update 25-07-2012: a second DD! I feel honored.

I haven't done any sculpting the last year and this DA support is a great incentive to take it up again.

Serpentine is the type of stone the sculpture is made of.

This particular stone is black with a tad of green. It's quite soft to sculpt.
In the picture (under, right) you can see the original structure of the stone. I liked this bit a lot and in fact it was the inspiration for the sculpture.

Beautiful. I love the softness between the couple, speaks volumes with a simple idea of lovers. There's even a sense of urgency, as though this is their one chance at a private moment and they'd best not waste it. I feel like an intruder on their time.

That's what I first thought of when I saw this piece. It's really beautiful, the way they are entwined and hold each other. It may be abstract, but the concept is lovely and clearly shines through the sculpture.
