Description
Common Name: OkapiCommon Name Synonyms: Striped Jungle Giraffe
Scientific Name: Okapia johnstoni
Size: 150cm tall in average shoulder, 250cm long from snout to tail
Classification: Artiodactyl Ungulate
Habitat: Jungles, Swamps
Diet: Herbivorous; Diet consisted of leaves from trees, buds, grasses, fruits(bananas for example),
Description: Was it a half-zonkey, pint-gazelle, but full-giraffe? Nope! It is a small, short necked giraffe with stripes, so this shy animal can hide itself from predators, like leopards and human poachers. The Okapi was used to be near-threatened, but nowadays, that Okapis are the endangered species. Okapis are smaller than their close relatives, the giraffe, but bigger than a pronghorn, the okapi's distant relative. People thought that the okapi was a cryptid, due to the fact that it looked like a horse with stripes on their arms and legs, like a zebra, but their arms are taller than their legs, and they have cloven hooves with no dewclaws, and had horns that are made out of skin. Females are slightfully taller than males, yet more reddish and had a lack of ossicornes.
