Size: 17.5-47cm in shoulder, 35-94cm from snout to tail-base + 21.6-47cm tail = 56.6-141cm from snout to tail
Classification: Marsupial
Habitat: Swamplands, forests, jungle, urban places, fields, arctic
Diet: Omnivorous, diet of wheat, fruits, vegetables, insects, snails, earthworms, carrion, small snakes, mice, and other small animals
Description: Opossums, they looked somewhat like sewer-rats, but rats are rodents, while opossums are marsupials. Their defense against predators, was faking their deaths, which makes the Virginian Opossum was the most famous subspecies of Didelphis, not only that it was the only marsupial that is native to North America and north of Mexico, on planet Earth. Outside of mating, that opossums had a raccoon-like behavior, as they are solitairy. But the mothers carried their 9 joeys up on their backs, until the joeys became matured.
