Description
What? Patches worked hard?! O: I never knew that was possible!Haha anyways, yeah, I did work hard, trying to add in un-noticed details.
But yes, here you have it....Lazy mane and tail O:
Anyways, I worked hard on this in general, I will be adding some close up's with all the details. XD
I hope you guys Absolutely adore like this as much as I do x3
This piece was inspired by a song from my childhood: My childhood in one song :'D
Haha, so anyways, After youve heard the song and ran away because you hate Country music Love the song like I do you will then understand this manipulation, and the key to life itself.
lolno, but this horse is very furry If you havent noticed, because like, wild horses are furry, and dirty, and have messy manes and tails, because they dont have people to groom them! So, I hope now you see where Im coming from with this uber furry horse concept.

To start of, I think you beautifully grasped the concept of the piece. Magnificent!
The first thing I would like to bring up is the horse.
I think that it has been correcrlt shaded and the mane and tail are breath-taking. I would just like to see maybe more highlights and lowlights in the mane and tail. Make it more realistic, rather than not.
Next, the background and foreground. I love the way that you put together the background and foreground. Very lovely and smooth. They both come together as one. Very nice job.
Lastly comes the lighting. I really enjoyed the sun and the little light bubble streaks, as if someone was taking a picture. Wonderful! I love the streaks of sunshine, and the horse looking up to it as it rests at the tip of the cliff onlooking the beautiful scenery below. I would like to see a bit more variety of colours. Maybe some pink and purple.
Overall, this piece is breath-taking. Other than the minor comments of what could be improved, this is a magnificent piece! Keep up the good work!

well, there you go my dear! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h⦠" width="15" height="13" alt="

vision
does the artwork present or reflect a point of view, theme or idea?
i think it does, but i think you have to know the song you've been talking about (as you already said). for me right now it's 'just' a pretty wild horse in an epic landscape. so, seen from my point of view, i give it 3 stars.
originality
is the artwork fresh or new in its style, execution or approach? is it something you havenβt seen before in its particular genre? does it surprise you?
i think i'm going to rate this the same as 'vision'. i've seen horses on mountains before, but i think you know the meaning if you know the song. maybe you should add the lyrics to the description? it might help a bit!
technique
the fun (and most important) part!
was the artwork skillfully created? does the artist exhibit advanced knowledge of the medium and/or bring special focus to the craft of the medium used?
i love the amount of detail you added to it! you did a great job there. i'm a sucker for those little details. it really shows that you take yourself seriously as an equine manipulator.
such a great thing that you added the fur! very well done. and i love the nice, flowy and detailed mane and tail. they look perfectly messy and dirty, like they should. the colors you used to draw them are well chosen.
and the bits of flying grass! that's so clever!
and i like who you didn't smudge or clone away it's wounds and dirt, because it really adds to the whole 'wild horse' idea.
you defined the body very well with lights and shadows, but i think you could define his face a bit more. i know he's facing the fun, but you could still add some more details to the nose and eyes. maybe add some little hairs around his nose?
let's go to the background. i like how you used all those different photographs to make your own landscape. but i do think you should recolor some bits. for example the grass and trees. you've got loads of different green hues in it. the green in the front is yellowish, it's brownish in the middle, very bright green to the left, and a duller green on the mountains in the back. try to make it look one hue of green, but make it a bit lighter on the mountains in the back. that's because the color changes a bit when the distance is longer. (hope i explained this bit right, not so easy when english isn't your first language. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/d/d⦠" width="21" height="15" alt="
" title="I am a dummy!"/>)
and to finish it off; i like the lensflare!
impact
does the artwork resonate with you or evoke strong emotions? does it make you think? does it blow your mind?
i like the piece. but it doesn't have the same emotional meaning as it has for you. so i'll rate it 3 stars again. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l⦠" width="19" height="19" alt="

i hope this critique helps you a bit. and i don't sound bitter or anything. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/g/g⦠" width="17" height="15" alt="

Thank you It doesn't sound bitter at all x3 Yeah, the song kinda was related to my childhood, so Im guessing, yes, I should add a meaning in the description x) But thank you so much for the critique! and I agree completely with you! ^^ There are many horses on mountains xD
But all in all, thank you so much for taking the time to write this, and specify what I can fix to make it better! (:
