"Awhile ago I had been thinking about Mellie’s head and I decided that I wanted it to be more like a dullahan’s. As in,when she takes it off it will start rotting if it’s off for a long period of time and will eventually end up bone. If she puts it back on the muscle, flesh, etc will grow back but it will be gradual so this prevents her from just keeping her head off for an elongated time frame with no consequence.

Also she will be bothered by flies if she keeps it off excessively."
