"This the room. Prepare to breach" said the squad leader.

Galix squad mounted themselves onto the wall beside the entrance to the apartment. Three on the left, three on the right. The squad leader tapped on the helmet of the operative nearest to the door, letting him know he will be the one to place the explosive charge. The operative reached into one of the pockets attached to his torso armor and pulled out two rods that were attached to each other. He placed the two rods onto the door, creating the shape of the letter 'H'. The operative pulled out a device with a trigger and waited for his leader to give him the order.

Meanwhile Markov, the man inside of the apartment, was unaware that his secret safe house had been discovered. He had been on the run for a long time ever since he assisted in the assassination of President Silvus Demu of the United Space Alliance. He sat carefree on his couch, watching the news, thinking he would never be caught like the fools on TV. That was, until he suddenly felt and heard a sudden explosion outside his bedroom at his apartment door. Without thinking, Markov immediately pulled out a gun from under one of the couch cushions next to tim and began firing at his computer, which housed information related to the assassination and events leading up to it.

Galix squad kicked down the door to the bedroom. The soldiers immediately entered the room while pointing their guns at Markov, preparing to fire.

“Markov, get down on the ground, it’s over!” the squad leader yelled

Markov, not having any desire to die, threw down his gun and immediately laid face-down onto the floor with his hands on the back of his head. One of the soldiers brought Markov’s arms down towards his lower back and tied them tightly. The other soldiers began to spread out and searched the rest of the apartment for evidence. One soldier analyzed the computer that was shot up.

“Boss, found a computer.” one of the soldiers announced.

“We’ll have it searched, pack it up and regroup with us in the other room.” the squad lead replied.

The rest of Galix headed towards the main room with Markov while the soldier packing up the computer remained in the bedroom. He placed the computer into a small black bag which expanded to fit the computer. After he finished, he placed the computer in his rucksack. He curiously scanned the rest of the room with his eyes as to observe Markov’s lifestyle. Light pierced through the window wherever the curtains did not block them. It was a sort of calming view, something a person like Markov didn’t deserve. The soldier looked out the bedroom door and observed the daylight that was leaking through the other room. It was starting to fade out.

“Oh sh*t, the windows!” he yelled.

Suddenly, a squad of unknown hostile soldiers breached the windows of the other room and began opening fire on the unsuspecting Galix squad. These enemies were not your average cannon-fodder, they were spec ops. The hostile squad members had lines attached to their backs, signifying they were attacking from a helicopter or the roof of the building. One of the enemy soldiers grabbed Markov and pulled him towards the window.

“Hahaha! See you later, a**holes!” Markov sneered as the hostile squad pulled him out.

Suddenly the apartment was empty of life, aside from the soldier in the bedroom. Markov knew he was in the bedroom, they’ll be back to finish the job. The soldier immediately ran to the other room where his squad laid dead. All of them were riddled with bullets to their skulls and chests. He looked out the window and saw a helicopter in the distance. As it came closer to the building, the whirrs of the blades got louder and louder. The helicopter landed on top of the apartment building and in a few seconds it departed in the same direction it came. The soldier grabbed his gun and rucksack and stormed out of the apartment and into the hallway along with his squad leader’s ear piece.

As he entered the stairwell of the building, he heard footsteps a few floors below him. There were multiple footsteps. He didn’t have time to run across the hallway to the other stairwell, so he ran up the stairs to the roof. He eventually came up to the door leading to the roof and burst through it with all his might. As soon as he reached the roof, he was greeted with a bullet to the chest. One of the hostile squad members had stayed behind. The soldier attempted to raise his gun, but was met with even more bullets. He eventually fell to the ground. Soldiers entered from the door behind him and began to surround the area.

The hostile squad member took the packaged computer from the rucksack and gave it to one of the other soldiers. The other soldiers immediately began walking away and the Galix squad soldier began crawling towards them, in effort to retrieve the computer. He felt a boot fiercely digging itself into his back. It was followed by a bullet through his skull. The door closed and the only ones who were on the roof were the elite soldier and the corpse of the last Galix Squad member. The elite soldier brought a cigarette to his mouth and said

“Your mission ends here.”
