Description
I decided to create three large scale mixed media pieces on canvas based on the theme of 'peeling back the layers' were i took the concept of looking at the layers of an interior and exterior of clocks. Using a range of collage techniques with various media i created this piece above where there is intense patterning incorporated are also clock cog shapes and photo shop images of scanned interiors. I wanted the style to be loose and free but still have the subtle hints of detail and refinement created from varnish, shellac and pastel use. The organic colours are left made up of left over screenprint medium applied with a palette knife, there are rubbings included of various patterns and mark making in complementary oil pastels to highlight the clock cog shapes...
