Well if you mean in book form, no. I just did this page for personal use, it was never printed in book form or published or anything. If you mean you'd just like to read the the other 2 essays I wrote, well I'm sure I could find those here somewhere.

hmm yeah, not common to refer to a bathroom by 'toilet' over here, but nahh, i wouldn't consider it rude. the US and UK do have a lot of different words for different things. i find it interesting.

ah, i always wondered what the difference was between those...who'd a thunk it was boy/girl... well, my bad, "lassie."

hey no problem. i sign my paintings a. fox to be intentionally ambiguous. i'm glad to educate you on that difference. and now you will always remember that timmy's collie was a girl dog.

haha! i like that! signed a. fox. i usually don't sign my stuff, or actually i do but it's just an afterthought on back. but if i had a cool name like yours i'd put it on front just to be cool like that. yeah...i always thought lassie was a boy... maybe that's why i was so confused.

I know that kind of writing where you have observed something so wholly that you can just reel off everything about it... becuase its so personal, it cannot be wrong. I liked the piece... bar the cheezy ending... all the observations were great, especially the light who is uneasy about its own existence!

ok, cheezy ending. let's hear where/why you think it's cheezy. i'm curious because, well, i never thought of it as cheezy before. after i hear what you think, i'll tell you what is meant.

hmm are you american? if so, it mite be okay for over there.. for me it just seemed weird you never wanted to leave this room, as you say, and that you are in love with it! lol i know you speaking figuratively of course, so i guess its not that cheezy, maybe its just me picturing you standing in a bathroom on your own, not wanting to leave. Brings back bad childhood memories.

lol well yes i'm american, but i don't think that has much to do with it. it's really just me being overly analytically intensly idylistic. plus, i liked the cyclical ending that matched up with the intro paragraph. also, when i say "my world ends", my "world" is not the literal world that I live in, it's my world of peace and contentment that was erected just for that particular moment. sooo... yeah. it's just creative writing. it isn't literal and it could be taken differnt ways depending on how you percieve it.

'Ramblings of an Introvert' got me, I started assuming what kinds of things would be in this book, but I hadn't expected something about an infatuation with public restrooms. o_O This has inspired me to write! more!
I just realized that/remembered, the noise of the resteraunt suddenly, stop, and ..hmm
That was very enjoyable to read.

haha this has been something i continually think about and notice, so this wasn't hard to write at all, it just came off my brain in one piece, it seems. i'm glad it inspired you! i love it when i get to cause people to think. I know that I'm pretty alone in how I percieve restrooms, but I hope that after reading this, people might at least give their next public bathroom a second thought. It's good to think and observe... get those creative juices flowin.
Really glad you enjoyed.

This is such a wonderful design! I really love the way you added the detail to the bottom end of the rules. Great font choices also. I wish I was a writer but I stink terribly at that!
PS - you were right about my design work. I had my portfolio review last Friday at school and they did say that my design work was far beyond the normal level of a one semester student However, my paintings need a bit more work. Oh well, cant have it all, at least I can make money with good design skills and still paint for fun! It would be harder the other way around!
Great work!

oh well good for you! see, you can't expect too much of yourself when you're just starting out. keep up that painting hobby then.
this layout was fun because i didnt have to juggle too many elements, so i gave a ton of consideration to every minute detail of this. i'm really really pleased with the outcome, but i think i see a bunch of things other people may not notice. but, in this i guess i know i've succeeded if they dont notice; they'd notice if it was bad.

I agree, there are several things we do in our own work that others take for granted, expecially in graphics. I dont think people realize how much work/set up in involved in every single layout. From deciding on the page size, to each font, each piece of spacing. It is a bit crazy really!
Anyway, this piece is very successful. Several of my professors are in the mindset that good designers can express exactly what they need to with very minimal elements. It is those who stink that have to overcompensate with extra stuff. I think I agree!

yeah i do agree that its usually more difficult to pull off an excellent design with very few elements as opposed to loading it up with junk. the quality really comes down to the little things: delicate font choices, line spacing, adjusting the rag of the type... my typography class taught me a lot in that area last semester.
