I listened to the first song - which was great - but then the napster thing came on and I really don't want to pay anything - too bad - I suppose I could try to download each of those songs from LimeWire though

Yeah, well basically FIQL just provides references of places that offer pay downloads of those songs. Unfortunately iTunes only has like 11 of the songs available. You'd do good to just download them through LimeWire, although I prefer SoulSeek. Similar concept, its free, just more of a basic program, but there tends to be a lot more underground harder to find music on there.

Soul Seek - haven't heard of them - I will check it out, based on the first cut of your playlist I will see if I can come close to duplicating it - I don't know if you have heard of Henry Rollin's Site but he does a radio show that has downloadable programs and he plays a fantastic mix of music. I will give you the link to go to if you are interested. He also does a great job of commentary on each cut he plays.

Yes...but I have yarn in my closet. It's perfectly acceptable yarn...if not as colorful. Me wonders how you got it to hold so nicely...-nods-

ouchers. yeah, i dunno how bad yours was, but when i was like 10ish, I accidentally stapled my finger. it went in the skin, back out, and clamped shut just like a staple does. my dad had to bend it back and slide it back through. that was a weird feeling, seeing a staple attatched to my index finger...

Mine was with those copier staples. The ones where you can make copies and then it automatically stapes for you. So...I think I had to get a shot but the shot made me really sick. ><

so you got your hand caught in the copier as it stapled your hand?? that's gnarly.

lol, it's just when i look at you image i feel really claustrophobic, what with all that twine/wool wrapped round the frame, and the woman being stuck right over the male. who wouldn't wanna come up for a breath after such an experience?

twisted-soul [2005-12-12 18:40:24 +0000 UTC]

just as everyone else, i too love the string! it really just ties the whole piece together... lol [no pun intended]
great work!

patternsinthestatic In reply to twisted-soul [2005-12-12 20:45:34 +0000 UTC]

ok i will say that the yarn isn't quite so red in real life. this pic makes it too bright. see, i had to up the saturation a lil to make the content inside the frame more discernible and a lil more yellowish. but in the process the yarn got pretty red. but whatever, i like the real version best.

bottom line is, you can't fully appreciate traditional art unless you see it in person. especially with my textured pieces.

twisted-soul In reply to patternsinthestatic [2005-12-12 23:32:17 +0000 UTC]

see now that makes me sad because i would like to see what they look like in person. you have wonderful art and i would love to fully appreciate them
but i agree 100% i post something and they say "that looks great" and i think "who are you kidding it looks a hell of a lot better on my wall!"

Full of texture and a distinct mood. Love the red string.

One of my favourite examples of mixed media I have seen, just great.

Not a lot you can say about it though, except well done.

Texture is fantastic, amazing stuff, the red string is perfect, I think I remember reading it represents a promise or something which is really neat for the photo. Nice work.
