Took this while the sun was setting, minimal editing too. Cranked up the colours in my D40, and got this!Taken with my old manual 80-200mm, which is why the focus still amazes me.

It takes the same skill to focus manually with any SLR, you need to train your eye to see the sharpness. It's one of those things that comes with time, for me at least.
Sadly, we DSLR users don't have the help that older 35mm SLRs got in the view finder, but there is a small dot the appears in the finder on my D40. I never trust it though, it appears even when badly focused.

Manual lens, on my D40. Its practice. I've had the lens for 3 months now, and am just t=starting to get consistently sharp shots. =]
