Every time since Hoenn, when Ash has started a journey to a new league, he's picked up a ten year old girl to go on his journey with him. Now, at this point Ash has to be a good fifteen years old, and yet he continues to go on his journey with ten year old girls. Seeing that, as well as how no matter how many leagues he enters he can't seem to become a master, I put this picture together. Ash is middle-aged, still going on wacky adventures with pre-teen girls. I know I wouldn't let my kids go on a journey with a pudgy 40 year old Pokemon trainer. Then again, at the rate he's going, Ash is going to still look 10 by the time he's that age anyway. Pikachu? Eh, he doesn't care. He's just along for the ride.

I needed a female trainer for this picture, and thanks to , I got one ([link] ). Her character is unnamed, but for some reason, the name Janine just popped into my head. So for this picture, at least, her name is Janine. A fan of Pokemon, to be sure, but I'd assume she wonders every day why exactly she decided to start traveling with an old guy, as does her Charmander.

This also marks my first attempt at digital inking. Not too for a first try, I don't think. Much smoother than those crappy lines I'd always made before. The reason the lines are so thick is because I had actually quickly (and darkly) inked it on paper. The next drawing I do should be much better.

...come to think of it, how long do Pokemon live, anyway? We'll just assume a while, for the sake of having Pikachu alive and not a dead corpse rotting on Ash's shoulder.
