Description This did not turn out quite as intended, seeing that I forgot about the vertical parallax of the TLR, so we get a much more interesting photo than the one I was thinking of.

From left to right:
Welta Weltur, Yashica-D, Agfa Shur-Shot, Weston Master II
The Holga was sitting downstairs, feeling sadly neglected.

Yashica-D TLR
Kodak 400 TMax 120 roll film
Scanned 6x6 negative

Very cool, Steve!   I just bought a new (to me) TLR today!  I'm very excited to get it in the mail.
I'll tell you about it this weekend.

Indeed, yes. I had all three with me last Sunday, though the Agfa stayed in the pack. I shot some with the Holga, too, which missed the lineup. On my gallery page look for "Gary's Photo Class".

My father had similar camera like the second from right made by Agfa but it was made by Kodak. It's now in my collection together with the newer sisters.
Nice collection!

Yes, Kodak made quite the series of box cameras here in Rochester. There aren't a lot of cameras made in New York State anymore, either in Rochester or Binghamton (where Agfa was based).

What did you get?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ohno-moment In reply to pearwood [2011-02-17 18:54:25 +0000 UTC]

um
let me check

it says it is an Argus Lumar 75mm. it has a view finder on top and a flash attachment on the side which i have no idea how it works (if it works) or what kind of bulb. Takes 620 film but may be missing a spool...or not, there is one, would the other be on the film? the shutter seems to be working fine and it has a delay timer feature that i haven't figured out yet.

pearwood In reply to Ohno-moment [2011-02-17 19:08:30 +0000 UTC]

The camera should have a take-up spool. The film would come wound on its own spool, which would become the take-up spool for the next roll.

Since 620 film is no longer made, one would need an extra roll for rewinding 120 film to transmogrify it into 620.

Ohno-moment In reply to pearwood [2011-02-18 18:36:28 +0000 UTC]

so technically, for the first time, you could use a 120 to 620, but would then lose the 620 spool?

why not just use 120 spools?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pearwood In reply to Ohno-moment [2011-02-18 19:17:28 +0000 UTC]

The 120 spools are slightly bigger in diameter and have a larger sprocket holder. They don't work. I've tried.

If you develop your own, having the film wrapped around your precious 620 spool isn't an issue. If I were taking the film to the photo emporium I'd ask for the roll back.
