Alex ran to school. He woke up late today, and got caught in the rain. Running towards his school, he felt his clothes getting soaked. 'Great' he thought. 'This day is getting off to a bad start.'

Stretching, Alice woke up. Looking at the time it was past eight o'clock in the morning. "I'm late" she mumbled to herself as she jumped out of her nice warm bed. She threw her blankets all over the floor and raced down the wooden stairs.

Alex burst through the main doors of his school. Running down the hallways to his locker, he hastily fiddled with it, trying to make it open. Alex pulled out all of his text books, and slammed his locked door shut. He ran to his first class, English. Everybody stopped and stared at his as he stood in the doorway of the class, his clothes making a huge puddle on the floor.

"Go to your seat Alex." The teacher told him.

Alex nodded his head, and sat in his seat at the very back left corner of the class.

"Back to what I was saying, we will have a new student joining us today." The teacher told the whole class.

'A new student?' Alex thought. 'That seems kind of interesting.'

He turned to his friend sitting to the seat on his left.

"Who do you think it will be?" He asked.

"I don't know. I couldn't really care less." Said his friend Jack.

Alex pulled out his binder from his back pack, and set it on his desk. He noticed that everything was soaking wet. Why? Because his backpack had a hole in it. 'I need to get a new backpack soon' Alex sighed.

Alice, out of breath got to school as soon as possible. Her hair was drenched with rain. It had been raining out ever since she woke up. Running down the hallway to her locker a teacher screamed "DONT RUN IN THE HALLWAYS". This was Alice's first day at school. She switched schools due to people bullying her. Nodding at the teacher she walked towards her locker. She knew exactly where it was due to the open house and she had visited the school a few weeks before to get a look around. Alice looked at her paper and it said English first block. She remembered exactly where to go. She had to only remember that the English classroom had writing all over the door of students poem they had wrote. Opening the door the whole class went silent. Each and every one of the students starred directly at her. "Good morning, are you Alice" asked the teacher. "Yes" quietly said Alice walking in the classroom. "Please sit down by Alex the boy over there near the back of the classroom" the teacher said to her, pointing at Alex, while watching Alice walk towards the back of the classroom. Sitting down Alice was soaked. It looked as if Alex was soaked too from the rain.

Alex watched the girl who ran in, sat right in front of him. He wanted to say hi to her but he didn't really know her yet. Alex decided not to say anything if she didn't. "Hi my name's Alex." He said. 'Damn it, I didn't want to say anything to her, so why did I?' He thought.

Alice looked directly into his perfect round eyes. "Hello" she replied.

"Nice to meet you" He said.
