First semester of grad school down and I have time to draw again! Y'all ever wonder what happens when an ex-cultist and angel become friends? They become soul linked when Cthulhu comes for the ex-cultist. XD

Basically our d&d (well monster of the week really) group went to invade the cult that Jacki escaped from in order to rescue the kidnapped daughter of another group member. The daughter had just been successfully saved when Jacki decided that he needed to get the relic and bring it with us, so Jacki and Gabby (the angel) go for the relic while the rest try to reunite after being scattered. Jacki manages to shapeshift into the form of the cult leader and orders the cultists to show him the relic, but they report that it has been stolen. At that moment, Jacki hears screaming from the room where they keep the sacrifices. He and Gabby run into the room, see someone with the relic and time freezes. In another room, the group reunites and a father pulls his daughter back into this realm through sheer will force, back to our scene Jacki begins floating and his cult brand glows burning white-hot.

In another plane Jacki looks into the void.
He is in unimaginable pain.
He is terrified.
He is... utterly alone...

Suddenly a glowing arm appears! Then the rest of Gabby emerges! Her earlier failure to control her power turns into a blessing as she reaches out to Jacki and he reaches back and thanks to her power is saved from the nothingness.

As they touch a bond is formed, one that will last a lifetime.
