This is how to do a rivalry. This is also how you do the bully trope. And powerful but limited superpowers. And... just... just everything, okay? these boys are everything and i love them and this show is too good.
basically wanted to convey what I see as a captured sum-up of their dynamic. Bakugou has his back turned to Deku in an effort to be distant and aloof, and he's even scowling bitterly, but still, he's glancing back in Deku's general direction because some part of him does acknowledge Deku's strength (he wouldn't feel threatened by him if he didn't). He's not happy about it, but it's there anyway.
And then Midoriya is walking the other way, but glancing back with both concern and fondness. Bakugou is simultaneously friend, obstacle, and adversary. What Midoriya sees as the ultimate test of strength, after All Might. Someone he both looks up to AND fears. And yet he has the courage to look straight at him, unwavering.
this dynamic is my life, that is all.

That background is so like studio bones— seriously amazing job!
Also I 100% agree with you, that's a great analysis on their relationship and I'm so happy someone finally acknowledges it. I absolutely love how the author portrays their rivalry, it so so so good and I always want to see more of it and they both grow from their character development! ^_^
Especially Bakugou. Ever since the first few chapters, idk why but I always had this feeling he would get better as time passed and at first many people would ask me how I could like his character so much. Its becuase I saw all the potential for huge character development and I was not disappointed with how Kohei decided to handle his overall character.

I was the same way. Bakugou is one of my favorite characters not because of what he is now, but because of what he could be, the sheer depth I can sense lurking behind his loud, abrasive and angry facade. And we're only scratching the surface now; I'm eager to see what's next in store for our spiky boy.

This is amazing; everything works. The coloring, the composition, this is very technically sound. And you captured their relationship perfectly, it’s amazing to see such a complex pair of people captured in a single image. If I had a fireplace, I would totally hang this above it. Keep up the amazing work friend, you’re always super talented and make some of the best art on this site
