Description
I tried to draw something completely with a computer with this one- I haven't really done that... ever. I'm quite satisfied with the result, considering it's the first one so far.Colours could've been better though.
CS3, tablet.

Well, it's the magenta filter I used... seemed to give the best result in popping the character out of the background. Without the filter it'd be quite flat. Although, I do agree you're right... the guy appears to have a pink nanosuit on him!
Actually, the visual style borrows a bit from you. I was searching on how to do this CG thing and ended up flipping through your stuff to figure it out, among others... thanks for that.
Oh, and the trees... I'd really need some grunge brushes, they'd do a better texture. :/

Why didn't you magenta-ed the background instead? I'd say it could give more interesting effect.
umm,, np What about visual style -.^? I can't recognize any of my elements, what did you learn or rather i can explain some stuff if you need.
Brushes? I use 's brushes as a most basic brush set on all my digital drawings [link]

Well, I did try that, but it didn't make the character pop out. It just made the forest look weird... D: Besides, having different colour of light for the background and the character doesn't seem plausible when it's outside- indoors it would make more sense.
Mainly on how to use the brushes... I used to use 100% opacity all the time, and obviously it didn't work out at all, so it's very basic stuff like that. Also, some things on how to do the B&W lineart + shadows. There's still a lot to figure out though... I'll ask if I get confused.
Oh my, thank you! Very excellent! Now I can try to do the new cover page for the comic, finally. I was thinking of doing it completely on CG, might look better than a hand-drawn version(colours).

use the "chalk" from this pack [link] and do the trees in the exact same way as you did on this one, you'll find out something interesting
