Description
I went and sat outside. Here there was a procession of ants, hunting food as they do.
It Happened that I should sit upon them, my largeness blocking their road.
Within a minute a few workers had crawled along my thighs and, deeming me no threat, set a detour for all the others of the host.
I went and sat on a log.
There were lizards scurrying along it, hunting for ants that had strayed away from the road.
My vibrations sent them running under the log, into cracks and hole.
It was many minutes before the first of them took the lack of vibrations to mean danger had passed and came upon the log again.
I went and sat under a tree.
The tree was home for a nest of birds, the parents hunting with sharp eyes and sharper talons for lizards with which to feed their young.
The racket I made as I approached caused the parents to fly off, abandoning their young to the heard threat.
It was around an hour before the mother came back to circle the tree, checking on her young while keeping her own safe distance.
I went and sat in a forest.
There were many snakes hiding in wait for the chill of night to begin their hunt for defenseless young.
My trek brought me close to a few, and frightened them to a rattling and hissing wakefulness filled with fear of going unnoticed.
The day and night had passed and dawn was approaching before the first of them was bold enough to slither near me.
I left my house to go and sit among nature.
The house was home to many other like me, going about their lives full of joy for lack of need to hunt.
My existence and strangeness enticed a few of the others to harsh words such that I felt forced to go out.
It was a week before the youngest of these others noted my absence.
