Description
I decided to draw this after watching SF Debris' review of Avatar: The Last Airbender. I figured that after her defeat and slip into insanity at the end of the series, there would be a point where she would once again look into a mirror, and see what destruction she has brought onto herself.I really want to know what happens to Azula in the upcoming novel "The Search". I keep thinking back to what Iroh said to Zuko about Azula, "She's crazy, and she needs to go down."
I also remember what Aang said to Korra βWhen we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change.β
Now that Azula has been defeated, and her megalomania crushed, where does she go from here?
Azula belongs to Michael Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko, and Nickelodeon.

This is when Azula realized what she threw away, and seeing her mother in the mirror made her realizes who she pushed away first that started her brink of insanity, the person she needed the most: Her mother.
And as much as Zuko cares for Azula, her cruelty and insanity left him no choice but to put her in prison. And in the Search when Ursa said "I'm sorry I didn't love you enough" Azula had a look that said "You fool!...I should be saying that!" because Ursa did a lot for her kids to protect them from Ozai's wrath and had to forget them in order to do so and then she felt guilty for doing so after seeing Azula's state. But Azula realized she did it to save them and realized her mom did love her a lot, and Azula was the one who didn't love her enough and left her mother and brother, while her concious says she has a better destiny ahead, it could have been her psychosis acting up, but now she knows her mom and brother did love her and she wished she loved them enough.

By the time she realizes her mistake, Zuzu will have left her in prison for the rest of her life. Zuko doesn't seem like the forgiving type of ruler, and I hope he makes an exception for his sister. However, as The Legend of Korra reveals, Azula most likely spent the rest of her life in prison, and this has made no impact at all of Zuko's conciense. Meh, but there's still fanart and fanfiction.

Azula ran off into the forest. So what? If she hadn't, she would have most likely be put back in prison after The Search ended.

I say she focus on revenge. She is the legitimate heir to the throne. Not Zuko.

That's what I think is interesting about Azula's character, she carries the blood of both the Fire Lord and the Avatar. There may be a far greater fate for Azula than the throne.

Agreed, should she learn the truth she can tear the Fire Nation apart in civil war. Then she can destroy the Puppet masters, the White Lotus society and claim her birthright. If no her, than certainly her offspring. Death to the Avatar!

Hmmm, well you do know that in The Search we're going to see it focused A LOT more in Zuko and Azula both since this is the search for their mother. The main focus of the story will be on the royal siblings. Not only that, but Azula has been in a Fire Nation Mental Institution because she truly did lose her mind, and we're going to see how being in a mental ward has affected her.

To be honest, whenever I saw the idea of Azula recovering in fanfics or pictures, I normally didn't really think she would. But this picture has actually made me poen up to the idea of her recovering, and considering how much of a determined person she was, I now think she could do it.

She was frighteningly impressive for most of the show, and then at the end we had the briefest of glimpses of why she was such a ruthless creature, as she began to break down from inside out from how she behaved towards others and how she had perceived others saw her. I couldn't help but feel sympathy for her, i almost wanted to see her rescued from her sorry state, in spite of all the pain she caused and reveled in.
Hopefully she would have a revelation of some form, and follow in the footsteps of her uncle rather than her father.
Great looking picture

Thank you! I want to see Azula recover as well, she had gotten herself into such a terrible place at only the age of 14. I hope she can make a better life for herself.

Me too, I wanted her expression to reflect the sorrow that she is feeling as she realizes that she brought this upon herself, but I also believe she use this low point to rebuild herself and grow stronger. Sometimes we have to be brought down to rock bottom before we can grow again.

That's so true! I write about her way to redemption in my story the Childeren of Fire.
It tells what happens with her after her mental breakdown!
