Description Alright, like I said, just cause I had a lot of questions about it, here's a tutorial about rigging paperchildren to stand on their own.

If you have any questions, drop me a line!

All of the above paperchildren can be found in my gallery in the paperchildren folder.

[EDIT] Holy cow, a Daily Deviation?

Thank you guys so much! ; u ; <3
I'm glad I can give back to all of you like this, again, thanks! <3

Sticky-Dreyfuss [2011-01-10 11:23:59 +0000 UTC]

that's really cool ^0^ I want to try making a paperchild! Do you cut them out using scissors or a craft knife?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pettyartist In reply to Sticky-Dreyfuss [2011-01-10 18:04:06 +0000 UTC]

I use a combination of both-- scissors for cutting around the edge of the paperchild (around the main part, that is) and an xacto knife for all the small/delicate bits around the inner parts.

very cool, love your characters!

-ever think of using armature wire? (for sculptures), it comes in many gauges and is very bendable, lightweight. I've also used very thin gauge tie wire used in construction for sculpts. no need for the flimsy bread ties or twigs, lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pettyartist In reply to MeltedMedias [2011-01-10 18:09:26 +0000 UTC]

I do have some armature wire lying around, but it's usually not in the vicinity when I actually go to rig them. XD
I have some florist's wire in my desk drawer though, so that's usually what I end up using.
