Description Alright, like I said, just cause I had a lot of questions about it, here's a tutorial about rigging paperchildren to stand on their own.

If you have any questions, drop me a line!

All of the above paperchildren can be found in my gallery in the paperchildren folder.

[EDIT] Holy cow, a Daily Deviation?

Thank you guys so much! ; u ; <3
I'm glad I can give back to all of you like this, again, thanks! <3

I had a look over this. I only saw the pictures. I don't know what I'm looking at. I could try and read it, but I can't focus. Well done, this is art.

I think it would be helpful to see some pictures of the paper rigs from a slightly sideways angle, so we can see a little better how they work. For example, I can't get my brain to wrap around Toothless' claws... are they not actually touching your finger? Things like that.

Ah! I can do that-- I have the paperchild here at work with me, actually, so I think I can set it up and throw it in my scraps, if you would like.

Check in a little bit and I'll have a link to it in my Artist's Comments.

Makes sense.

Of course, you have to be able to imagine the character's interaction with the background or objects to begin with -- the rest is just creating that illusion.

Unfortunately, it's that first part I have trouble with....

Haha, well as a tip, making some sketchy draft versions to play around with til you find a good interaction's always helpful. :3

as soon as I saw night owl I took a peek at the poor guy in my desk <3

I think I'll use this technique for a few superhero paper dolls. (I recently found some hard paper it a drawer I never used.)
