She had been dehydrated for weeks. her lips were cracked with thirst, her head pounded under the punishing sun. Still, her mistress had to have her afternoon bath. All that water, just to be dirtied and dumped into the sewers. She wondered if anyone would notice if a few mouthfuls went missing.
