Back story: Team Rocket clone.Moves:

Oh my sod, I'm really, truly sorry for the watermark overkill, but I really hate seeing my art in people's Youtube videos, particularly when their form of credit is "Lol, credit foar pics to Deviant Art" |: And Pokemon fan characters are veeeeery prone to being art theive'd.
Anyways, this is Alpha. Yes, my gengar, Alpha. Except I tweaked him a lot to be able to use him in my application for *VengefulSpirits 's and =Little-Wolf-Kid 's Pokemon collab comic thing. :v
I really want to be part of it, it sounds so fun. cx
Even though I am not a huge fan of "LOL CLONE SLAVES," or "LOL ROCKET POKEMANS" but...

Also, his collar is on his ear cause Gengar wearing a collar around a neck it does not have is awkward to draw and looks silly. Yep.
EDIT: Added a comparison between normal gengars and Alpha. Also added a badly written, but still conveniently coherent back story. Removed cause it was terrible

I absolutely adore this. Gengars are by far one of my favorite Pokemon (I've owned one in every game), and the way you draw them is easily recognizable, but also makes sense of all those spikes and adds a certain cuddly factor.
The character itself is just brilliant. Too often I've seen generic "Sparklechus" running around with Team Rocket collars, so a Gengar character is really a breath of fresh air. Alpha's ponytail is a nice touch, and I love his short-tempered personality. This is definitely an interesting character, and I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Yes, I agree, sparklechus are quite generic. One of the many, MANY reasons I stopped being very interested in Pokemon. x3;

But if I don't get accepted onto the team, then I probably won't do much with him. Might take his personality traits and transfer them onto a different, more original character, but who knows? :V

There's just so much to love. They kind of creeped me out when I was younger, but now I can't get enough of them. Perhaps it's because Gengars remind me of fluffy, purple teddybears. >w<
I can understand that. I still like the games, but other aspects of the fandom make me die a little on the inside. ;_; You can still find some creative Pokemon art out there, but a large majority seems to be poorly-done recolors, rainbow-emo-that-might-be-a-Pokemon-things, and Pikachus. GENERIC PIKACHUS EVERYWHERE. It's funny remembering when I was in elementary school and every kid had a deck of Pokemon cards in his backpack and a Pokemon game in his Gameboy. How fandoms come and go~
With your level of skill I'd be surprised if you didn't make it into the team, but that's just my opinion. Yours is one of the more creative entries I've seen so far. 
Overall, this Pokemon team seems interesting, and I've been tempted to try creating an entry. I have my doubts (since the last Pokemon team I joined went up in flames), but this group could be very cool if it worked. I don't have much experience as a comic artist (and my last attempt was mostly a failure), but another try couldn't hurt. The hardest thing about doing digital comics last time was definitely the lineart. I usually start of with a scanned ink drawing, and cleaning up those lines is infinitely difficult in Photoshop. D:

Haha, I've always had an interest in ghosts, and since Gastly was the first Ghost Pokemon, that was it, I had to have one. x3
Then I discovered Haunter. And he was epic. And I liked him more than Gastly.
And then someone was all, "Dude if you trade it, it'll evolve again. O:<
So I did. And since that day, Gengar was officially the best thing ever.
Yeah, I mostly still like the games, but not really the pokemon past Generation 3. Some of the g4 and g5 ones are awesome, and I love them, but for the most part, yeah. x3
But the fandom. Argh,
I used to have a comic based off of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon the 1st, but it got so big that people kept stealing it and nagging me for MOAR and it just stopped being fun, so I removed it and stopped working on it. Herp.
Since that happened, I've been more focused on my own characters and ideas, and frankly, I lie it better that way. Its more satisfying for me as a creator.

Yeah, I dont mind fan art of my fan art, lol, but I tend to draw my fan characters anyways, they just don't often show up here, cause people like to take my fan art. :1

I've never wanted to join a team, until this one, so if I get in, it'll be my first. x3 I'm really anxious and nervous that I won't tho, cause lots of people are better than me and entering as well, so, we'll just see what happens. x3; If it dies, I will be disappoint, but it looks like they're picking their contributors carefully, so hopefully the people that make it will all be reliable enough to keep it going all the way through. :3 That would be nice~
Also, you totally should try. :3 That'd be awesome. >:U
Even if you dont end up making it, it can't hurt. It'll be good practice, at the very least. :3

Haha. x3 Most of the stuff on Alpha isnt really emotional, I think. Besides his short fuse, obviously, but you dont really have to be emotional to be self centered or rude.
Maybe his emotional problems will be usable later tho, assuming he makes the cut.

I didn't know you had any fan characters, but I must say that this guy is the most well thought out fan character I've seen. Most people just take a pikachu and name it -Insert unoriginal name like "Cutie" here- or something, giving it no personality whatsoever. Looks like you actually put thought into your Gengar. Excellent work~

I actually have a lot of fan characters, but most of them are old, and I only really draw them on paper, and then proceed to not post them.

At first I didn't really like him too much, since I'm not a fan of Gengar... but there's like, so much personality in the drawings, I'm really starting to adore him. XD And the expressions are really fun...

I've always loved the way you draw Gengar. :3c So awesome. His expressions just fit perfectly with your style.
I wanted to get into this collab initially but then I realized the amount of effort I'd have to dedicate into creating a huge ref sheet explaining the character and then doing an unspecified number of comic pages for the collab. I still haven't finished Darby or HellFireRed yet. :C
But I might make a Rocket-style mon soon anyway BECAUSE THAT'S THE POPULAR THANG. And I've been wanting to make a Spinda character too, so. >3>;

I was dead set on not making one for the longest time, until this happened. Once everything is done with, I doubt I'll ever draw Alfie again tho, unless for some reason, I get the whim to do it. And if I do, he will not be a Rocket pokemon.
