Description
Full View Please. There's a lot of detail. Why yes, I am a big fan of Tales From The Crypt. Could you tell?
An idea I've been trying to do for awhile, and I finally got it right. I wanted to draw a more realistic version of a Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. Exposed muscles (which you can see on her left shoulder and leg), veins and whatnot. And I wanted to do it in the style of the old EC comics (EC being the company that made the Tales From the Crypt, The Vault of Horror and The Haunt of Fear comics in the 50s). I tried to make her as medically/scientifically correct as possible. I even used photos of anorexic women for reference (not a pretty sight 0___o).
Things I like: Her exposed waist. I love how her spinal cord, ribs and hips turned out. The way the dress and veil turned out, and how well her face turned out (The exposed skull, the exposed teeth, the empty eye socket). I thought the face would be the one area I screwed up the most.
Things I don't like:When I was tying to shade the back of her dress behind her legs I kind of screwed up, and in an attempt to fix it, ended up making it too dark. Her exposed leg (which goes from skin, to muscle, to bone) doesn't stand out as much because of it. Also her bodice is a bit darker than I wanted, and doesn't have quite the texture I was going for.
