"You ask first," Bilbo said, because he had not had time to think of a riddle.So Gollum hissed:
What has roots as nobody sees,
Is taller than trees,
Up, up it goes,
And yet never grows?
My own take on how this iconic scene from The Hobbit could look.
I drew it from two seperate photgraphs of Martin Freeman, who is to play Bilbo Baggins in the up-coming Hobbit film, and Gollum.
I had to 'Hobbit-fy' Freeman with the hair and and adding the cloak etc. Gollum I made younger than the original photo by giving him slightly more hair and less facial lines

I'm reading the Hobbit currently (absolutely love it), this scene one of the more recent and prominent in my memory (I'm about halfway through), and I have to tell you, the realism of this made me gasp and squeal.

My friend that is plain brilliant. I can't wait to see how this scene plays out in the movie, I think it is my favourite moment from the book. As for your 'Hobbitifying' of Bilbo you've got it spot on to how he looks in the movie so bravo

It's gorgeous - almost perfect - I think you could improve it by adding a photoshop filter to darken it substantially - Gollum was very threatening in the Hobbit not the beaten down creature from the LordoftheRings (caused by pining for the precious ) and visibility was very poor in the depth of the Goblin network - making it a perilouis situation for Bilbo.
The idea to make Gollum look younger with less facial lines is inspired !
