Description
This is a conceptual piece for me to experiment with airplane expressions. I chose the 737 because it is an aircraft I am very comfortable drawing. I experimented with shading in this piece; it worked best on the Southwest jet.Sad face- Southwest Airlines 737-500
Surprised face- Alaska Airlines 737-400 (Spirit of Alaska livery)
Angry Face- United Airline 737-700 (Outdated: the angry flush would not be red - it would match his eye/energy color).
Happy face- Canadian North 737-200
My living aircraft are not biological: their eyes are projections, and they don't have mouths, but they can scrunch up their fuselage just enough to mimic the corners of a smile. (Also outdated: I no longer depict this pseudo-smile).

interesting concept, the eyes being projections and such is interesting how they can still move around and scrunch up a smile without a mouth too

It's sort of complicated, but it's actually a form of alien energy that allows the individual atoms in the aircraft to move over each other and allows for the wings and fuselage to have complete flexibility, I'll explain it better in my comics

Thanks, I wanted to do something new and different . I'm hoping over winter break I can finish my concept sheets for the first race of characters we get to meet, and then I will finally get started on the series

In my story after the planes start coming to life, the humans install a projector inside the cockpit that projects the eyes according to the plane's emotions on the windshield, and it helps the humans better communicate with the jets, and that also means their eyes glow in the dark

Not only that, I also imagined how will these planes eat cupcakes.

....they can't... and I don't want to know what you have imagined for this.

I imagined them smashing cakes in their face and thinking they can eat. Hopefully they evolve one day.

Very nice job, this kinda remind me of my "Old" way of depicting a living plane back in 2009 - 2011, back then my living plane are pretty much completely mechanical and still have no eye or mouth, but they express their feelings/emotion through limited movement of some of their part such as their wings and landing gear as well as communicate with other with limit set of sound language or some could speak only few simple words in human language, but they are just as intelligent as human

Thanks, I am trying to stick to the mechanical approach because the biological planes are more common from what I see.
