Phation, keep Ru's older design, making things look edgy can be an ingredient for disaster at many times, if the fans like something, then don't change it, take the redesign for Sonic and Dante from DMC as an example of edgy gone wrong.

I personally prefer Ru's current design. But if you do go for this, the yellow in the hair doesn't look very good in my opinion.
