From what I can tell, Ru doesn't have a set gender. Some people refer Ru as female (probably because of body color). Myself, I have always referred Ru as male because it's what I'm used to over the years, and the IRL artist himself is male. Ru never informed us who is right and who is wrong, so I guess it all comes down to preference.
