After 30 hours of work, she's finally finished!Actually, I think I'm going to put more detail in the helmet, and I still have her bow to make. But all in all, she's finished.
I'm going to retake better pictures, but I have to wait until I finish Kos-Mos, since these two dolls are my project for my contemporary art history class. The title of the work is "She's not a Human, so it's Okay." And I'm exploring themes of pop culture, sexuality in contemporary japanese art, and the role of craft in art. I've inspired myself from Murakami's work; and I'm aware of my use of appropriation. Full details on the meaning of the work are pending, because I'm not finished researching and I still need to organise my thoughts on the work.
Fran's armor is nearly completely made out of felt. I used this "higher quality felt" (well, it was 11$ the meter) and my other black felt that was different tone. I had many ideas on what to use, but I finally decided on felt since I wanted to layer and make as much detail as possible. She looks a lot better in real life!
I'm not entirely satisfied with her anatomy...It could have easily been tweaked, but I failed to change it at the time, so I'm left with a bit of dissapointment. But all in all, she's quite a success.

EDIT She's exaclty 30inches tall (as in, including her ears). I had to edit this in because people kept on asking me!!

Under her "skin", the shape of the plush has a protruding part...so when you stretch over the skin fabric, it gives it that small nose.

Looking at this, I still can't believe I own her!
I got to come home early! (For minor surgery, but still.) She is so gorgeous, I spent a good fifteen minutes fussing over her hair and her ears. They're so lovely. You're right, she does look amazing in real life!
Apparently I'm challenged when it comes to sizing up measurements correctly, because Genesis is so much bigger than I expected! I flipped out in excitement when I opened up the box.
They didn't fight in the box, although to be honest, I was more worried about them coming out with sex hair. Bahaha.

She is the most incredible plush I've ever saw! The anatomy looks great, skin is smooth and looks silky, amazing hair, she and she is ENORMOUS!

Well, she's totally (or very closely) proportionate, and all of her body parts align with her center of gravity...so that's what enables her to free-stand.

ahh, and her heels are also not made in two spikes. There's also some inaccuracy with the back of her armor.

Yeah, that's true : most of the reference pics are fanart! But I mostly based mine off of [link] ...and the game graphics for ff12 are pretty good, so just zooming the camera on her is always an option. Good luck with the cosplay.
