It's so they can feel important in their little online world... It can be amusing, but I haven't tweeted for many months now. I'm very over Twitter.

Well, it's probably useful in some way, but it is also a pity for using it as making one looks important.

In some ways, sure. It really helps when you're bored at work and have nothing better to do than Tweet your friends. It's a little sad that so many people look for validation from others before looking for it in themselves... If you're not important to yourself, you can't be important to anybody else.

I don't know if it's fun to tweet others when bored; there are things you can do like doodle things on a surface and such, but then again, I can't think of any importance in doing unnecessary tweets.

Eventually you get over doodling... I remember my times of boredom working at the internet cafe all too well... Sometimes you just want to say something random to somebody just for the mild amusement factor it holds. Most of the time, I don't see anything particularly necessary in Twitter... Other than keeping indirectly involved with the happenings of friends.

My friend did that to his friends on MSN sometimes, and most of the time people just say unnecessary things, probably a word/smiley or two. People like to do something to make their life more interesting even for a few seconds, which I consider normal.
Then again, twittering others with pointless message isn't inappropriate somehow. It could be good to announce something big, but the chances are pretty few, I believe.

I'm fine when a website uses it for telling people about updates, but people don't really care if you're eating an expired tomato. *faves*

No; the doctor cares, not to forget the one who sell belly-ache medicine. :3

True... But do the doctor and the one who sells belly-ache medicine follow everyone?

I am not so sure how to explain it, maybe you can go and have a look.
Oh...no wonder didn't see you online...could it be bad connections? You can try again or sign on your hotmail, which I think it should be something else instead.

I twitter.. it's not desperation.. more wanting to share things once in a while without having to write full stories about it.
Cute stamp though. Some people do share a little too intimate of details, but they'd do that without twitter I'm sure. At least twitter has a maximum character count per entry.

Thank you twitter that maximum character is a life saver, who knows what we could find out about people if it weren't put in place.

Emotional poem! D:
Somehow I think people won't really spend too much time on typing something really long on twitter unless they are so depressed and ignored the fact.

Blame Supernews (by Current) For influencing me to make such a stamp. I do believe that it's useful to share things as well, even though it's just a short message.
Thanks~ there are people sharing or so without twitter, but I guess it gives more people to have a choice whether to care or ignore if it's just nothing.

Well yea and twitter works good for like... advertising something. You could be like "We did this today (linkage)" then people can go "I'd like to know about this.. (click)" or "Who gives a shit?" and not click. Rather than reading half-way through a big entry only to find out it was a waste of time.

Phillus In reply to LostKitten [2009-06-07 00:19:29 +0000 UTC]
Of course. Still, it's better than Blogspot in some manners. I think twitter send message to your phone or some other way, right? At least it saves someone's time.

LostKitten In reply to Phillus [2009-06-08 15:49:18 +0000 UTC]
I use blogspot too. My reasoning behind it all is that as a writer no one really knows who the heck I am, so having these "connections" helps develop some form of relationship with potential readers.
So there is a method to my madness, I'm not simply going "OMG look at me!"
And saving time is always a perk!

Phillus In reply to LostKitten [2009-06-08 15:57:59 +0000 UTC]
That's pretty wise and good! I know that blogspot can be useful for writers since there's nothing much you can show there except for some images and mostly words. It's still pretty useful and not very controversial as well.
An excellent and vital perk!

I love the idea. Plus I completly agree. It's just silly the number of people on Twitter explaining the most unimportant details of their lives to people who barely know them.

I had this in my mind for some time, until I realized that it's pretty much useless and unnecessary...that's why this stamp is made. I don't know whether I'd regret saying or even making this stamp, but oh well...it doesn't matter what happen in my future anyway. X3

Heh, how funny I just registered today
Really though I think when it comes to sites that join, like I'll say an adoptable site I go on, Squiby, I think it'd help me keep in touch with the updates going on in that place, or others I have problems keeping in touch with :3
Of course I might type some updates, but I wouldn't of course say anything that was what I thought to be too personal xD. Some people could use it for attention seeking, But maybe one would just see it as having simple small talk.

Phillus In reply to FoxinRamen [2009-06-01 01:13:11 +0000 UTC]
That's true...but even though it's not totally worthless, I doubt people could put it into 'good' use...
Even adoptable site is better, at least you can spend your time on something fun and somehow have something to socialize with others.
I don't know about you, but I am sure it's good for those who need a lot of chatting instead.

FoxinRamen In reply to Phillus [2009-06-01 02:54:36 +0000 UTC]
what do you consider to be the "good" and "bad" uses of it? 8o I'm curious :3
Heh, yeah ^ ^
Lol, I get quite some good chatting from MSN or art comments themselves x3 I'd kinda like to use Twitter in some way to say how I'm doing, without all the big details like I give in my DA journals at times XD
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Phillus In reply to FoxinRamen [2009-06-01 03:53:35 +0000 UTC]
The "good/bad" I was referring to was the quality, not the "good/evil" which was mistaken. For example, telling people something good and worthy of chatting, maybe something really important or so instead of "going to the library" or something like that.
That's fine, at least when it could come in handy some way...

Well, maybe if they said what they did and a small opinion on what happened " And an emote's all I can express to that XD
Maybe if someone also said a thought that showed what they were doing, that could possibly bring some interest
Phillus In reply to FoxinRamen [2009-06-01 13:21:01 +0000 UTC]
That's a pretty good way to make use of Twitter, but I doubt people would actually spend their time on such elaboration...at least they could be 'smart' enough in explaining to people who are curious enough to know the details.

FoxinRamen In reply to Phillus [2009-06-01 16:10:17 +0000 UTC]

Oh I love it. Microblogging, where you dont have to worry about silly apps or games. And all the MySpace and Facebookers stay away from it; an added bonus.

Phillus In reply to Ginjon-Leprechaun [2009-05-31 12:31:25 +0000 UTC]
It's more like telling people whatever you want though; could be good or bad, yet I guess it's something new aside from those MySpace thingy...

Ginjon-Leprechaun In reply to Phillus [2009-05-31 18:22:19 +0000 UTC]
But MySpace and Facebook are also telling people whatever you want. In fact, thats basically what the internet is.

Phillus In reply to Ginjon-Leprechaun [2009-05-31 23:46:42 +0000 UTC]
They are different in some content...but I think Twitter just get the opportunity to earn the business because you can tell others about something small like you are drinking coffee or whatever, but MySpace and Facebook are usually an event or so. You won't edit MySpace telling people that you are like sitting on a chair or something small like that, right?
That's true, but I am sure there are some sort of hidden limit within people on how to use it.

"You won't edit MySpace telling people that you are like sitting on a chair or something small like that, right?"
You obviously haven't met some of my friends. Ahem.
And there is really no limit, but the average user (eg. you or me) doesn't go to the sites of pointless frippery where they just say whats on their mind the moment it enters.
