I do wish Capcom would focus more on the more obscure characters than the SF2 characters all the time. I realise the latter is the more well known but I'm personally getting sick of seeing them all the time when I feel there have some just as good, if not better characters floating around.

Oh, for sure. Capcom's the king of figting games, but they're also the king of unabashed bias.
I'm sick to death of Ken, Ryu, Sakura, Chun-Li, Akuma...etc. I love SF3's cast, and wish they would give characters like Necro or Oro another chance.

I am COMPLETLY the same. Hell I hate how Capcom vs SNK2 is basically "SF2 (and a few friends) vs SNK2". SFxT does have a few non SF2 characters in it, but I'd have rather seen say Alex and Zangeif over Rufus and Zangeif and maybe Oro, Urien and/or Gill make their long overdue return. Hell someone once suggested a Dudley/Eagle team and due to me maining Brits I would LOVE to have seem that.

Yeah, can't stress Necro enough either. Hasn't been used again once since SF3. Would love to see more of Alex and Urien too. But funny thing is, they were at least both in Capcom Fighting Jam.

I've not used Necro much myself but I do like his fighting style. Where as people call him a Dhalsim/Blanka hybrid (which I do slightly agree with) I do feel he surpasses both as, if I remember correctly, he does more with the stretchy body and electrical attacks than either of the "inspiration" ever did.

Yeah, the Blanka/Dhalsim comparison doesn't do him justice whatsoever, as he plays nothing like either.
Dhalsim's moves are very direct, and in my opinion very weak and limited. Necro, on the other hand, needs momentum to get his moves going, and once he does start going, he's a force to be reckoned with.

That's another thing I hate with the "I can't be arsed to step outside of the SF2 roster" mindset; Capcom have created new characters, perhaps further developing a concept they started but taken it in a new direction and it just gets shot down. I'll admit I rarely used Necro (never been a fan of charge characters) but as I said, I've seen him do more with the "properties" and from what you said about him requiring momentum makes him sound more unique and interesting. To me Dhalsim plays like a slow Ryu clone.

I collect two inch models called "Minimates", and the company who makes them recently obtained the SFxT licence. Sadly this doesn't cover DLC, so no Dudley for me, but a lot of the comments I see on the forum are either:
"Are we getting all the SF2 guys"
or
"Can we JUST get the SF2 guys and not the rest"

Yeah, a lot of fans aren't accustomed to the more unique designs of the later games.
Granted, I didn't care much at all for the new characters introduced in SF4, like Abel, El fuerte, and whatnot. Probably because Akiman wasn't designing them.

I like Juri due to my own personal history in TaeKwonDo and her more petite figure and Hakan because the concept alone is AWESOME. The rest I'm also a bit meh about.

C. Viper looks like someone who would fit more into the King of Fighters, imo.

I agree with you about C.Viper (people have said she's too much like Iori from KoF). Abel seems like an interesting character in terms of concept and his basic design looks good on a Minimate, but I've never cared too much for grapplers so I rarely use him. El Fuerte has an interesting personality but that's about it. Rufus I DETEST! I really dislike his design, especially when I heard the physics for his belly were based off DoA style boob physics.

Well, more just his really dimwitted look, which is accentuated by the opposite cross-eyed look, with the comically huge lips and large nose. I don't mind it at all, I just find it funny.
