There's an old house in the middle of the woods. We happened upon it one cloudy day. It was just standing there, all alone, silent and dead. They say an old man once lived in that house. Old Man McGregor they called him. He was a queer fellow... never married, lived alone all his life and never really talked to anyone. Damn kids wouldn't leave the place alone - they were always intruding on Old Man McGregor's yard on a dare, sometimes even trying to get into the house. They say one very brave little boy actually went inside. No one knows what came of him, but he was never seen nor heard from again. But who are we to believe such talk; it's all just urban legends. Well, unless you take as evidence the juvenile human femur and scapula that a stray dog dug up not far from here. In any case, no one bothers Mr. McGregor anymore. The kids stay away from that place now, and the parents have all warned them not to go anywhere near it.

Is Old Man McGregor still there? To be quite honest, we haven't a clue. We haven't seen nor heard from him for over twenty years. Is it possible he's passed on? No one knows for sure. No one ever went inside that building except for Mr. McGregor himself and that little boy who disappeared. He never had any family, relatives, or close friends. No one really knew him. No one knew where he was from or who he was. He could be dead, or he could be still living. We're too afraid to go in there and find out.
