Just a quick test I wanted to try - set this up last night.   I wanted to see if I could get the glow effect to move with the character.

Seems to have worked!

What I did for this was to create an OBJ file from the Kroton character (Nyhlloghast by Sixus1  - a very well designed figure) and then run it through a Python script of mine to expand it out every so slightly (using the include normal vectors).  I then brought that back into Poser and "clothified" it.  I then ran a cloth simulation and was pleasantly surprised to find it tracked the figure's movements, didn't run away, and did the calculations in about 4 hours or so.

This is a test of an idea I'm working on for someone else.  So far, so good.

Next up is - shrinking:

Thanks!  It helps to start with a really top notch figure!

This one has got me very confuzzed

Isn't glow an integral part of the material in PoS?

Pete - this should give you an idea of what I'm after - the failure mode is somewhat illustrative.

Yes - materials can have an "ambient" value which is light given off - but I wanted something  that surrounded the object, like some sort of an energy field.  That's why the edges light up more; you're looking through more of the energy field.   I've updated the text for this above and will post couple of other tests I did - I'm kinda checking out some ideas for someone else - though of course - it's giving me ideas too.

Thanks!   I've got a couple of follow-on's to this I might post.   But nothing related to anything I'm planning on working on - just testing out some ideas.
