Description
Animation: 2:48
This was a fun detail largely buried in the full animation. The right side display is an overview (there is also a "below deck" display that is the same as this).
The main part of the display is one of the seven smaller screens along the right and bottom. The "current" display is highlighted with a yellow border.
The four panels on the right side, top to bottom, are:
- Left Display
The health of the subject (in the main animation, that would be you). A bit of an homage to the Star Trek sick bay scanners. There are actually sounds associated with all 12 bars, etc. - but just too much going on to hear them all.
- Top Display
Various views, including a mirrored version of the camera pointed right back at the alien.
- Bottom Display
Includes a "screen saver" of our alien friend with its family just before leaving on this journey and others, mostly related to what's being typed into the buttons below; a display of the buttons being pressed, and a background lesson in Middle English.
- Back Display
You never see this directly in the main animation - it's back over your right shoulder, but it does show up in various reflections, as well as this lower right corner. Includes ship's power utilization and "breathing" (the very low tone), a status display (actually my animation notes, rendered in an alien font and timed to the animation) and what I think is a pretty good rendition of the massive computer on board the Seaview from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
The remaining three views along the bottom, left to right, are cameras:
- The outside view
- The view from below (includes a view of this same display, yes, recursive
)
- Display camera - basically looking back at the alien through the top display.
Many of these are 3-D and I'll be posting a couple of 3-D versions fairly soon.
I'm interested in your thoughts.
