Description I just kinda liked the look of this test shot.

This is a cheat:  you've seen it lots of times; a character in a movie looks at them self in a mirror and you see their face centered in that mirror.    Only, that's not how mirrors work;  if we see the character centered in the mirror, they'd see us centered in the mirror (I'm over simplifying here - but I think you get my drift).  As near as I can tell, this is done a lot in movies and I suspect I'm in good company.

In this case, the main character, Az (seen on the right, blue, naked, and hips probably a bit too far forward - but it looks cool, huh?), has turned to view itself in a pair of mirrors.   But as you can see, it can only see itself on the edge of the right mirror and not at all in the left one.

This is the character's point of view and not one I'm planning on using, at least not at this point.  From the point of view I plan to use (between the alien operator and the flying saucer hatch I missed turning off as seen in both mirrors) the hope is that it will look like the character is viewing itself in the mirrors - and so far, that seems to be case.

It's also a very sparsely populated version of the set - VASTLY improves my test render times and I just change a couple of master parameters and the whole set comes back on.  Rather than 3 minutes to render a frame - or even 20-30 seconds to render a small piece like a chin, everything here renders in about 15 seconds.  (Actually - probably  closer to a minute with the mirrors turned on - but I needed them to line up this shot.)

In case it's not clear, or I haven't said it enough - I'm really having fun with this.

Yeah we should see the camera right? Love them camera trick. Also glad to hear you have improved to render times. It's the major point at least for me. I didn't notice his/her hips are too far forward

Exactly - and if the camera were visible in this - it'd be right in the middle of each mirror.

The renders are faster just for shots like this were I'm just setting things up - they're still running from 1 to five minutes a piece with everything turned on, depending on the number of mirrors, windows and hair props visible in the scene.   Hope to start actual renders in a  few days.

The hips look OK here - but they were way too far forward a few frames later - all better now.
