SO, heres how you do it

What you will need to bring with you to the nether:
Flint and steel, rails, minecarts, fishing pole, obsidian to make a portal, and armor/potions/anything to keep you from getting blow up by fireballs.

1. Find a ghast
Go to the nether and look for a ghast. I HIGHLY recommend that you try and find a ghast that is either trapped in a cave with a low ceiling, or even better, wedged in a small cave where it cant move. I guess it would be possible with a ghast not trapped somewhere, but it would be extremely difficult. You will see why in the next step. Then once you’ve found your ghast, place down a rail, and then place a minecart on it.

2. Get out your fishing pole.
That’s right. WE’RE GOING GHAST FISHING! This is definantly the trickiest part. You need to use your fishing pole to pull the ghast into the minecart. Because ghasts, like all other mobs, will sit in a minecart if it touches it. This is no easy task, and it was very hard for me to do, even in creative mode. That is why I highly recommend finding a ghast that is trapped somewhere easy to get at it. A few tips to help you: bring extra minecarts, because the ghasts will blow them up. Don’t stand right next to the minecart when reeling in, because the ghast will stop short. Be carefull when casting your rod, it can reflect ghasts fireballs back at them, and kill them. Put your minecart somewhere high, the ghast has to be almost in the middle of the minecart for it to get inside.

3. After a while of frusterating fishing, you should get this.
I finally managed to get one in a minecart with a fishing pole. But if you are too lazy, you can just go to creative mode and use spawn eggs and spawn one underneath it. The ghast is so huge you cant even see the minecart its in, but it is in a minecart. If you’re playing in survival, I suggest you build a cobblestone wall between you and the ghast while preparing this next step.

4. set up your nether portal
build your nether portal anywhere near the ghast, and make a track with rails leading the minecart to the nether portal. Note, the ghast cannot go through the portal while inside the minecart, you need to break the minecart while the ghast is halfway through the portal. You wont be able to just punch the minecart without hurting the ghast, that’s what the fire is for. Light a fire behind the portal, on the opposite side of the track. That way, when the when the ghast is pushed into the portal, the fire will break the minecart.

5. light the portal
and push the minecart with the ghast into the portal. If the minecart doesn’t touch the fire, you might need to give an extra push. The minecart will break, and the ghast will be released inside the portal. The ghast will freeze for a little while, because it takes a while to register something that large going through a portal ewe
