Description
I wanted to make a tutorial of everyone's best friend - Physics~(Click twice to zoom in, but it is huge, so it has to load)
If I didn't explain something correctly, or you need help, don't be afraid to ask or note me~
also. lots of typos. sorry about that. I hope everything is still clear

Did you connect the joint to the correct phsyics? Like, did you connect the hair joint to the head base physics and Hair start? If so, Did you make sure the base head physical body is following the head bone? The only thing I could think off the top of my head.

What about if a part with physics isn't following the model even though it follows when the physics are turned off?

Pikadude31451 In reply to WolfenMallows [2017-10-21 21:59:27 +0000 UTC]
It could be that the static body that you attached the joint to isn't attached to the correct bone, or the joint itself is attached to the two bodies that you need

Do you think you can help me with physics, I can't get the enhanced mode on mmd to work and I really need a bag on my model to move with her and not just the straps, I have everything weighted right and just thought maybe physics would help make the movement more real.

It could be that the joints you attached may not be correctly connected. Like, if it's bangs physics, it would have to connect the head physic to the bang physics using the joints.
My other idea may be that the physical body has rendered itself "NaN", o something like that. I would make sure the size, orientation, and rotation of all your physics are okay~

Thanks for the guide, got a question here for this situation.
Model A has perfect physics nothing wrong, works as is when the model is by itself. There are no extra physics or anything on the model, however when I introduce Model B into MMD. Model A now has a strange physic twitch on their Tie.Β This is when they are in idle mode, but as soon as I remove Model B, Model A's problem goes away. I checked with another model and no issue there. So I examined Model B and I don't see any loose physics or anything. Any idea what might be causing the random twitch?

Pikadude31451 In reply to Nano2great [2016-09-23 04:46:25 +0000 UTC]
Are they occupying the same place? If so, it could just be that A is intercepting B's Static bodies.Β

Hello there! I've made a model where she has two strands of hair that reach about mid-torso. However, the hair clips through her chest, arms, etc.! While the hair does have physics and joints and all, I have a feeling that it has to do with those non-collision boxes. Here's a photo for reference. Β (And no, she doesn't have breast physics/joints, so I believe that may be part of the problem.) Do you know how to fix this, please?
π: 0 β©: 1
Pikadude31451 In reply to TheDailyKagamine [2016-06-22 02:46:37 +0000 UTC]
It does look like it's doing that because of the lack of chest physics - when you do attach them, make sure that they are not the same number in the physical body box, so that they don't go through each other in the end.

I tried attaching a head to a body by weighting the head to the neck bone of the body but when I load a motion to the model, the hair stays stiff even tho the physics are moving
π: 0 β©: 1
Pikadude31451 In reply to ritsuuma [2016-04-01 07:30:25 +0000 UTC]
Are the hair physics connect to the head static physic with a joint? Or is the Hair rigged to the head and hair bones?
π: 0 β©: 1
ritsuuma In reply to Pikadude31451 [2016-04-01 11:05:11 +0000 UTC]
I know for sure that the hair is rigged to the head and hair bones. The weird thing is that when the model is in MMD, her clothes has working physics only in her default position and when I move her to the side, the physics stay where it is and doesn't move with the model (I only figured this out by displaying the physics body)Β

MMDMaxine In reply to ritsuuma [2016-12-21 02:49:06 +0000 UTC]
Idk if you got this fixed, but rig the areas of hair to the hair bones, then go into the bone tab, selected the hair physics and change the parent bone to the head bone. That should work

Pikadude31451 In reply to Artisticburstic [2016-03-08 04:23:44 +0000 UTC]
It SHOULD if the bones are rigged to that hair, the joints have enough rotation, and all the static psychics are placed well enough that they doing go through~

I have this little Turorial, too -Β Let's PMD Together! (I made a tutorial)
It details a lot of stuff, but I believe the physics stuff starts about 6 mins in. Sounds like theΒ physicsΒ of the cat may be interrupting withΒ physicsΒ of the main model, or the Joints may be a little crazy. If you need any other help, i'll do my best to try to walk you through.

i have a question, how do you stop a models hair from looking like Jellow when it moves?it stretches real bad when it moves certain way,i dunno what the problem is? Β i dunno if the physics are to heavy or what, ive tried making the mass of the hair physics lower but it doesnt seem to have any effect ,i dunno what to do and i dont really know how to re rig it cus im still kinda new to model making

Pikadude31451 In reply to DGCain [2015-04-25 20:03:19 +0000 UTC]
Did you make sure the Joints are low? Like, if the rotaion and the movement of the joints are too high, they can get a little soratic. Also, Maybe make the hair have a few less bones?

DGCain In reply to Pikadude31451 [2015-04-25 20:08:28 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for this well explained tutorial ^_^
well, why the ( enhance model ) option is off ??
it works for some models like ( animasa models ) , but not for tda models , even my model.
Why is that? and how to enable it?
π: 0 β©: 1
Pikadude31451 In reply to Winter-Leaves [2014-09-22 05:47:49 +0000 UTC]
This method does not work on PMX models. PMX models must be done in the latest PMD editor (The English patch version is too outdated) or the PMX editor.

Okay ,, I downloaded ver. 0.2.2 of pmxe.Β
all I have to do is to open the model in it then re-save it.. isn't ? or should I also convert it to pmd ?
π: 0 β©: 1
Pikadude31451 In reply to Winter-Leaves [2014-09-23 18:02:23 +0000 UTC]
If you want to keep it pmx, you can always try to add physics in the pmx editor. You can find tutorials if you don't know how. I think I have something that could help, called "let's pmd together" or something similar to that. I go through physics I in that.

No no, dear.. Β thanks Β
I know how add physics in pmx editor .. but the thing is ..
whenever I change anything in the joints or physics settings I have to save the model and import it again and again to MMD
to see if that fixed the issue. butΒ it is a lot easier to do this within the MMD program .. make the changes and test the model right awayΒ Β

Hello, I also have a question. Do I have to weigh the part of the model I'm trying to add physics to before actually adding physics to it? Because I weighed it after I added the physics and it's all wobbly and it doesn't stop moving around.
π: 0 β©: 1
Pikadude31451 In reply to kittakat90 [2013-12-29 20:09:35 +0000 UTC]
Rigging order and physics order shouldn't make it a problem, because the tho are separated processes. But, Wobbly physics offten result from missplaced joints. Is the joint at the top of your moving physical body?
π: 0 β©: 1
kittakat90 In reply to Pikadude31451 [2013-12-29 23:00:23 +0000 UTC]
Yes, the joint is exactly where the moving body connects with the model.
π: 0 β©: 1
Pikadude31451 In reply to kittakat90 [2013-12-29 23:02:53 +0000 UTC]
Is there another physical body interfering with it? Or are the joint rotations at a high level?
π: 0 β©: 0
TheAwesomeMooMoo [2013-09-28 15:18:37 +0000 UTC]
Um... I have a question.
Do you have to add bones if there's a bone already there that you want to add physics to? I'm trying to add physics to Animasa Miku's sleeves.
