Description
I've finally drawn after months! Boring explanation of the drawing below. This is a digital re-draw of a traditional painting I did a few months back. It's called ''Language'' because this is a visual representation of how I understand language. The helmet represents the way language is programmed into our minds, the cuneiform writing is a representation of when humanity first developed language back in Ancient Mesopotamia, and the flowers represent how we use language to communicate with each other today. The helmet covering one eye represents how language shapes the way we see the world and forms a 'cultural lense'. I chose a light skin stone with no real indication of the girl's nationaly/ethnicity because I find that you often can't judge a person's ethnicity/nationality based on the language they speak or the color of their skin ((like me for example. I'm a Caucasian American, but my skin is slightly tanned and I speak good Spanish. I have family that lives in Mexico, but they moved there when I was young and are not indigenous to the country. Many people mistake me for Mexican or even Puerto Rican, but that isn't so)).
TL;DR There was a lot of thought put into this drawing, so hope you enjoy.
In other news, I was unsure about the category. So there you have it.
