Physical Description
Likewise to his twin Jovian, Lucian was born with wirey fur that covers his nape, chest and rump. It gives him an unkempt but clean appearance, often causing him to obsessively groom or otherwise feel comfortable in his skin. He is lithe and built to withstand long distances, having traveled as a loner for most of his life, he has a toned body and muscles that accompany his already lanky composure. His nails are always quite tidy and never too long or short, and his paws are wide and good for steep climbs or swimming in harsh currents. As a trait given to him by his father, Lucian also has a naturally bobbed tail. It is one of the few things about himself that he dislikes, and he often avoids turning his back on others because of it. His face is slim with soft curls on his cheeks and the top of his head, and his nose has a slight bend to it as a trait inherited by his mother. As far as colouration goes, he inherited the same blue-gray pelt that his brother had, though he takes on the dark badgerlike features of his mother's face and the lack of ticking of his father's pelt. His eyes are the same dusky gold as Jovian's.

Built for speed and quick, heavy attacks, Lucian is nothing short of a hit-and-run type of guy. He can inflict moderate damage to foes in rapid succession without getting tired, and his mind allows him to pinpoint weakspots easily.

Logical and straightforward, Lucian is proud of his ability to discover faults or ways out of sticky situations. He is quick witted and easily comes up with alternates that, more often than not, work out in his favor.

Smaller and leaner than the majority of other wolves, Lucian has to rely on his mind more than his body. This means a good, heavy wolf with decent attacks could hurt him quite badly in the thick of battle.ย

Lacking imagination, Lucian has trouble grasping emotions or fantasies provided by those around him. It makes seeing the future difficult, and often paints a black and white mental picture of the world in his head, leaving very little room for change.ย

Personality
While he shares some core values with his brother, Lucian is very much his own wolf and has inherited a handful of traits that his father's early upbringings had bestowed upon him. Lucian is a born leader and cares deeply for those who he considers close, most often seen doting after his brother, and in earlier days, his mother. He is deeply passionate about his ability to provide and the weight that his first-born status inflicts upon himself, often describing it as both a burden and blessing. Lucian likes to reflect on his actions and the actions of others, often losing himself to his own thought long after a conversation ends. He is rather quiet however, so his talkative and quick witted nature is only seen by a select few or if he is caught in a sociable mood. It was his mother's wish that he remain gentle and compassionate even if he couldn't voice it, so he does his best not to let his fickle sense of duty fall short, thus it's often Jovian who pushes him to do more than what Lucian feels is enough.ย
However, Lucian is ambitious in the sense that if he knows what he wants, he will do everything in his power to reach it. This is due to his mother's stories of how she and Ruffian had fallen short from so many of their aspirations, and Lucian believes that by securing his present, he can secure his future and avoid ending up as miserable as Ruffian had been in the last few days that he had seen the grizzly wolf. His biggest fear is to die alone, and he often thinks about those he loves passing as though he and Jovian had meant nothing to them. It fills him with a bitter sense of selfishness, a need and desire to keep he and his brother in their own little bubble away from all of the external hurt that seems to plague those around them. It makes him incredibly difficult to get to know and even moreso his brother who he is extraordinarily protective of, a quality of which is few and far between for the blue-gray wolf. ย
Thus, his personality (when shining) can come off as intense and almost overwhelming to those unfamiliar with his sense of humor and dour outlook on life. While he tries his best to remain positive in all situations, his positivity shines best under sardonic jokes and generally less-than-friendly comments. It isn't his intention to be so unapproachable, but his patience is limited and he often feels as though he is wasting time by trying to allow others to understand him. So, more often than not, he'll cut conversation short if he feels as though he is being made a fool of. This makes his attention to detail quite extreme, and he'll often spend the hours he isn't with his brother alone, watching those around him and learning their movements and mannerisms. If caught staring however he gets quite flustered, so it's rare to see him openly keeping an eye on other wolves. Even still, Lucian picks up on where his brother leaves off, often keeping his younger sibling in the now by reminding him of where they are and who they are in the company of. ย Lucian provides the logicistics and pessimism while Jovian gives him humor and life; a good combination for the twins.
Upon joining Stonecreek and finding himself with a task and rank, Lucian has made it one of his goals to open up more with both himself and his pack-mates. While he struggles to recognize verbal behavior of those around him, he keeps a close eye on those he socializes with regularly and is able to distinguish their usual charm from when they're off their game. He doesn't often try to pry issues or press them to talk, but his concerns are real and slowly growing into understanding from the once fully selfish wolf. While he's still selfish to protect himself and his own emotions, Lucian is adapting to the lifestyle and his newfound role of both provider and protector for more than just Jovian.

Pregroup Historyย
Born to two wolves with a history for bad choices and bad luck, Lucian and his twin brother Jovian were subject to a rough but fruitful life from the day they were born.ย
Their parents, Octavia and Ruffian, had belonged to a pack that had more or less brought them to their very worst state of mind a few months prior to their conception. Octavia, strong willed and defiant of almost all wolves but herself, had given almost everything to her mate and longtime friend Ruffian after she had found out he was alive and in the cultist pack that ruled them both. Octavia was subjected to reeducation before Ruffian had finally broken from the pack's spell and rescued her, the two of them leaving a trail of destruction and dishonesty in their wake. Ruffian was consumed with guilt and disbelief at his actions and never forgave himself, though Octavia did her best to allow her companion to greave and get back into a semi-normal lifestyle. However, their father was haunted by the Gods of the old pack and often had frequent night terrors, eventually costing him his sanity. He had gone blind only a few weeks prior to officially becoming Octavia's mate, his mind believing that by being blind it would allow him to forget the terrors of the waking world and focus on his spirit rather than the ground in which he walked.ย
Octavia had felt betrayed by this, believing that a part of him died the night that they had been separated and that he was no longer the same wolf she remembered as a child. So she asked him for her own children, something to keep as hers and hers alone lest he lose himself to the false reality that his brain built. Ruffian agreed, though deep down he felt sorry that he would never be able to see one of the only good things that he would create-- their children.ย
Lucian and Jovian were born in late autumn just before the snow would begin to fall, their mother's utmost care and comfort being their only source of warmth and hope. With Ruffian's disabilities, their father wasn't around much both mentally and physically. He was often lost in his own world, barely able to recognize the sound of his own voice as the days passed into weeks. Eventually, once the twins could open their eyes, they were able to see their father. He was a frail wolf and Lucian remembers vividly the scar that traces half of his face. It was charred and skin, and the young adult remembers feeling a heaviness in his chest at the sight of it. But the first time they ever saw their father, his sightless eye looked at them and he smiled. It was, perhaps, the only time they would ever see him smile so genuinely.
Shortly after, Ruffian disappeared completely from their life. Octavia had said that he had passed away from old injuries, though Lucian always doubted his mother's words for he learned to tell when his own brother was lying.ย
After that, Octavia spent the majority of her waking hours hunting and keeping her two children safe. Once the boys were able to walk on their own two feet without stumbling, the family of three began their move through the wilds and towards the prospect of more caring mountains. For much of his first year of life Lucian learned what it meant to be alone. He would often prioritize his time in order to get meals for his mother and brother, or find new bedding for wherever they decided to rest their thin bodies. Soon enough his brother began to follow in his steps and the two would take turns caring for their mother who seemed to grow quieter and quieter as their bodies began to change from children to young men. Despite her silence, she would regard their generosity with a soft smile and tell them to never lose that quality.ย
Octavia left shortly after their year and a half mark, her circumstances unknown and the only logical explanation that Lucian had was that their mother wanted to die alone and not surrounded by her children. This, of course, upset his brother greatly and some days Lucian wishes he could take back that comment. However, Jovian forgave him and agreed that their mother was more than likely gone. So they did not wait for her return and began their journey again, the idea that they may find somewhere to live and grow as young adults fresh on their somber hearts.ย
The two were met six months later by the face of a new pack; the pack of Stonecreek.
Skeptical of the prospect of joining a pack, Lucian had questioned his brother multiple times if this was the right move for them. But Jovian insisted that it was better than living alone forever, and so Lucian went along with his brother's judgement. Suprisingly though the two were met with a task to fufill not even mere hours after they set foot in the pack. If they were to truly join and be wolves of Stonecreek, they had to complete a trial. Lucian thought this was exhausting work for two wolves who had more or less traveled with no stops for the better part of six months, but the quicker they got it done, the better.ย
So the two young wolves set off to Sharp Stones, dropped off without further guidance once they set foot on the boundary of the place. Lucian was the first to gain his trophy, mostly by accident but out of the protection and safety of his brother. At some point the two had split up to search for their trophies and Lucian heard Jovian call for him from somewhere around one of the bends. While panicked, the blue-gray wolf remained composed as he charted the rocky slopes and towards a small hollar where Jovian seemed to be cornered by a nasty looking creature. For a moment, the eldest brother thought he may watch his only surviving kin die. There was no way Jovian could face off against what looked like a poisonous serpent, and from his vantage point Lucian's only option was a daring one. The brother yelled for Jovian to move and, once he did, Lucian sent ย several heavy rocks skittering down into the hollar, crushing the snake below them only moments before it were to strike.ย
Jovian had fled from his cornered post and waited for Lucian to arrive, the shorter brother bounding down the rocks and greeting his surprised sibling with a quick headbutt and gentle reminder that it was alright.ย
The pair then dug out Lucian's kill, and Lucian delivered a final killing bite to the snake's neck to ensure it was completely dead.ย
His trophy signified the protection he would bring. Not only for himself, or for his brother, but for the whole of the pack.

- A Hunt at the Border ย - During one of his first patrols, Lucian intervenes two High Mountain wolves chasing a lame caribou towards Stonecreek's border.
- Lavender ย - After his encounter with two High Mountain wolves, Luce asks Chenoa to keep him company during his morning walk. The two discuss their lives and the changes within them.
- Stranger Things ย - The last time the two wolves had spoken it had been when he first joined; now, Nymph invites him to a game of tug-o-war to relax.
- A Lost Sheep - Upon another outing, Lucian comes into contact with an overzealous and frustrating loner. She ensues him in a game of chase, and the victor is left undecided.
