Description
John pressed his hands over his ears further, hoping to block out the noise. His dark eyes were squeezed shut, and he really just wanted to shout out the window for the rain to stop.
Meanwhile, George was in the kitchen, making himself a cup of tea. He looked out the window at the lightning that brightened the dimmed room, fairly certain the storm was going to last longer then he'd hoped.
He picked up the mug and the other one meant for John. He walked out into the living room to see his boyfriend curled up on the couch.
"What are you doing, love?" he said, amused. He set down the mugs on the table beside the couch and sat next to him.
John flinched, then immediately sat up straight. "Nothing!"
Suddenly, the lights flickered. George looked up at the light just as it flickered out. The familiar hum of heating was gone, leaving the two in eerie silence.
"Not now!" John yelped. Finally not caring what George thought, he curled up again, hugging his knees and lowering his head. He tried to calm his rapid heartbeat, but it was like a hummingbird's.
George looked at him, raising an eyebrow. With the lights out, they could barely see each other, but he recognized the position. "Not now what?"
"Dark," John whimpered. "I hate the dark."
George's lips cracked into a smile. "No way."
John raised his head a little bit to glare at what he could see of George's face. "Shut up. Least I'm not claustrophobic."
"Hey, that's rational!" George cried defensively. "You could choke or...or...um, something in a small space! What's to be scared of in the dark?"
"Paul coming to strangle me."
George burst out laughing. "He's not that mean."
"Mm-hmm." John murmured negatively. But he just lowered his head again, not liking showing vulnerability. Even to George.
"You're so cute, all curled up like that." George noted. He shifted closer and put his arm around the older man's shoulder.
John reached up and took his hand, intertwining their fingers. "Distract me, George."
George raised an eyebrow. "How?"
John didn't bother answering. He raised his head and kissed George's full lips, gently at first.
George kissed him back, not at all reluctantly. After only a few seconds both of them felt each other getting hard.
"Ready already?" John teased. George had somehow been pulled onto his lap, and both of them were getting shivers.
"Not quite," George murmured, ducking his head to kiss John's neck. "I wouldn't mind some more foreplay."
John slowly moved his hand down George's side. "Mm, me neither."
Just then, the lights flickered back on.
Both of them paused, momentarily blinded by the light. George blinked at John, who almost cooed at the puppy eyes. "Can we still keep snogging?"
"I still need distractions." John agreed, grinning.
