Description Die Puppe
( the doll )

In his hands, Himmler held a doll.

One of Fegelein's men had found it during a raid. They had broken down the door and ran inside, only to find that the people they had been looking for had hurried out, leaving everything in a state of chaos and disarray. It had annoyed Himmler that they had figured out that they were coming after them and he had tried to hide his frustration from Fegelein... but, as always, he wore his emotions on his sleeve. Fegelein had merely smirked at him and thrown him the doll, which he caught with ease that surprised even himself. Now here he was, sitting in his office and holding the thing.

It was a simple wooden doll, meant for playing with during the day. Not the type of doll a young girl would use as a security blanket at all. Much too hard to curl up with at night, and far too many hard angles and rough edges to get hurt with if one wasn't careful. It certainly wasn't craftsman's work; the father must've made it himself out of a block of wood. Himmler had to smirk at the father thinking that he had any talent. The neck was far too thin, and Himmler wondered why it hadn't already broken yet.

No clothing made out of actual cloth, either. Just simply painted on. If a father really and truly loved his daughter, Himmler figured, he'd at least try and make her doll some clothes rather than just paint them on. He'd have gladly cut up parts of his trench coat for his own daughter if that's what she wanted for her dolls... but then again, her dolls were far more expensive and artfully crafted.

Its features were painted on, too. Two unevenly sized eyes and a thin swoop of a smile made out of black paint. He shook his head as he turned it around in his hands, examining its painted-on hair that should have been made out of actual hair. Maybe not hair from a person, but at the very least, horse's hair. Whoever had played God to this pathetic little thing deserved to die, Himmler thought. Only those who could create proper dolls should be allowed to do so – proper German doll makers.

His hand tightened around the doll until he heard the distinct crack of splintering wood.

His hand relaxed, and the doll's head fell off and onto the carpeted floor. He stared at it for a little before turning his attention back to the doll's body. It had cracked as well, straight down the middle, and he wondered if he really had put that much force on the doll. Ah well, Himmler thought, shoddy workmanship anyways. It was going to break no matter what I did with it.

With that, Himmler calmly picked up the doll's head off the floor and walked over to the lit fireplace. He tossed the doll in and watched as it smouldered and turned into ash.

Reichsmuffin. Heh. XD Better than angstmuffin. [insert emotastic Myspace photo here]

Also, I think I might have said "DAMN." while I was reading this. You definitely pulled off the creepy/dark factor here, and that last line is almost a really, really ironic metaphor/allusion type thing.

Nice.

I like the concept of this, not only could it represent his alleged Aspberger's syndrome but also the holocaust, with the whole fireplace thing and also the perfection of the dolls he was comparing the wooden one to.

I think there is alot of themes that can be picked up from this story even if they may be quite dark. A great piece of writing

-becomes paranoid-

Frenemie In reply to Pitfalling [2009-01-11 02:44:06 +0000 UTC]

slash is good, although I like it better when it's almost sad or more romantic than sexual, Nazi-slash is best of course

hah paranoia, I think it gets everbody...oh god here it comes now

Pitfalling In reply to Frenemie [2009-01-11 02:47:09 +0000 UTC]

oh yes. agreed. sex is fun to read, but it's much better to read tragic/romantic type stuff.

x3 it's the uniforms. it has to be the uniforms.

oh yes... paranoia... must not get paranoid watching for paranoia... -shifty-

Frenemie In reply to Pitfalling [2009-01-11 02:53:42 +0000 UTC]

it makes me feel sad but it's a good sad because it seems more beautiful :3

heh which reminds me I was buying comics a while ago when lo' and behold I found a nazi-slash one! I was surprised I would ever find one, so as you do, I bought it immediately although it's not quite between nazi's it was a Hitler youth guy and a Polish guy and it turned out sad in the end(right after the dodgy part).

heh heh uniforms are definitely one of the high points

Pitfalling In reply to Frenemie [2009-01-11 02:56:08 +0000 UTC]

ja, like... beautiful sadness. ^^

x3 what's the name of it? -must look up! now! xD-

ah it was a one off called 'only words' I like the drawing style of the artist too, it's more classic style than anime or kind of a mix between the two, I'm just so surprised to find a comic like this in NZ you might find it.

my favourite is SS Allgemeine, it's so dark and sexy

ah you should look it up on youtube its and english comedy about the time when the Nazi's invaded France and the main character is a French guy who runs a cafe and he has to deal with all these secret scams that go on between him and his Nazi customers, it's one of the most hilarious things I've seen

I've got a link here to the best scenes in the first series [link] if you listen closely you'll probably understand a bit of what's going on
