While the girls had better hearing than their male counterparts, their ear cones lacked some ability in determining where the sounds were actually coming from. Millions of years ago this allowed the Twi'leks to hear danger long before it reached them, but kept them from hunting quite as well. The women protected the family while the guys brought home the food. Evolution is funny that way. Xilya grew wary as the ship touched down, shut down, and then went completely silent. There was no sounds of the crew walking around the claustrophobic corridors, no whirring or beeping of droids, she did not even hear the cargo hatch open. It was just quiet. Quickly getting dressed for action, she slipped from her small cabin with blaster at the ready, unsure of what was going on.

The Galaxy was a big place, and very little of it was friendly for a lone Twi'lek female.
