I finished the first two books, but the writing doesn't really pull me ? I love the series despite all its flaws and nudity and gore and love the actors too. And oh for the love of gods old and new please no spoilers

It's true that the TV adaptation has an unusually high quality! The nudity and gore just make it more realistic, I feel... That period wasn't a pretty time to live in!
