Description
kick overthe Kaleidoscope
break
rip it
tear the symmetry apart
make it no longer reflect
the inner workings
make it like any mirror you might see
the bits and pieces
sprinkled, strewn around
aren't as pretty
as they once were
see what you have
broken
it used to be an
"observer of beautiful forms"
now it's glass, beads, and mirrorsβ¦

It's lovely, absolutely lovely... the idea of shredding apart the things you once cherished or looked up to because you know that once you rip it apart you just see the basics that are left over. The basics that they never intended for you to find.

I love your insight! I'm not sure what I was trying to say in this poem for certain. It's one of those poems that just kind of carried me while I was writing it rather then vice versa. I think what I was thinking was symmetry in comparison to "perfection" and the mirrors in comparison to vanity. I might come back to this and also focus on the colored glass a bit too.

That would be amazing! I always love it when poems just go... you tend to find things out about yourself that you never knew.

I like the composition of the whole piece, especially the line "tear the symmetry" apart however, it's just my own opinion, but I would add in some flashes of colour or a specific metaphor just to really stimulate the senses and make this poem really come alive on a different level.

i generally as a rule look back at a poem to see if i can change it up to make it better, this one specifically was done really fast so I know this one will have be on my "review list" as it were. I will definitely take that under advisement and I can definitely see the appeal, so ty greatly for suggestion!
