the best shortstory written by : The tigress prowled through her forest. She was young and she was strong, and at the moment she was hungry. She slipped through trees like a ghost, not leaving a trace, searching for prey. It was dark, but she could see, not one sound escaped her notice. Finally she caught a promising scent and followed it. It led her far through her forest down to the streem where many small animals gathered to drink, tense and alert to dangers such as herself. The tigress crouched and surveyed the scene, choosing her target with care. The mammel was limping, an easy catch. She coiled her muscels and sprang, quick as a flash, an orange streek in the dark. The animals fled before her, disapperaring into the trees, but her target was slow and she caught it easily. The taste of blood in her mouth was sweet and satisfying. She dragged the body away from the stream and had just started to devour it when she heard a noise, soft even to her sharp ears. Her head jerked up and her eyes locked onto the ones of the tiger, watching her from above. She tensed and bared her teeth. This was wrong! Another tiger in her territory, another tiger wanting to claim her catch! She growled, an echo of the sound the other tiger had made. It happend fast, too fast for her, young and unexperienced as she was. The other tiger came at her and suddenly there was pain, hot and sharp it seemed to cleave her brain and she couldn't see, red clouded her gaze as she fled from her attacker who was to strong for her. She retreated far into her forest, licking her wounds, cleaning her fur, preparing for the next hunt.

Quietly stalking the antelope, the tiger watched as the creature lapped up water from the small pond. Ready to pounce, the tiger adjusted its self slightly. The tiger leapt out but instead of sinking its claws into the antelope, the tiger was struck by another paw. There stood a mighty tiger, larger than the other, standing over its own species. The eye of the tiger dripped crimson blood, and the strong-built feline could smell it as the scent lingered through the air. The injured one rose to its paws and lurched backwards, showing no threat. With a swift movement, the mighty tiger whipped the big cat in the face with it's tail and walked away. Wincing in pain, the tigress turned away to head back with no prey.

eye of the tiger
it's the thrill of the fight
rising up to the power of our rivals
and the
last one surviving stalks his prey in the night
and he watches us all in the eye
