Description
This is Vanille's default weapon; the Binding Rod. I made this for my Vanille cosplay. It has a Wonderflex base, and then covered with Crayola Model Magic. It's really quite durable and light too! I was swing it around playing with it all day at the convention, and it still looks exactly the same as when I first made it.And No, it doesn't fold like hers.

AWESOME! I'm about to make one as well. Did you use the model magic just for the antler prong parts? Wonderflex for the handle base? I was considering sculpey but then thought it might be to brittle (for the antler prong parts). Thoughts?

Thanks! I made a skeleton out of Wonderflex and put the Model Magic on top of that so it would be more sturdy. I don't think Model Magic alone would hold up on something that big. Sculpey could get pretty heavy and I find it difficult to sand.

It's unlikely, but I will let you know if I ever do. lol. If anything i'd sell this one someday; I don't want to make another one of these things! It was too too time consuming.

that would be awesome! i dont have much time to make my own props because i run theatre shows for an arts school. i understand that the expence would be high and ive worked with crayola model magic before so i can fix it up if touch ups are needed. But if you ever concider a price range please let me know

I actually may consider selling it when I don't wear my Vanille costume anymore, and I don't know how long that will be. It's not a super durable weapon in terms of swinging it around and stuff. It is made of Wonderflex and Crayola Model Magic, so it can get small cracks in it after a day of photoshoots or rough packing, but It's easy for me to touch it up. So i'm not sure if you'd want to buy it or not. I'm not even sure what I would charge for something like it, because I did put a lot of time, work, and expensive materials into it. I will try to put up a tutorial with photos of my steps in making it - so maybe that would be more helpful to you.
