Description "Just the one pack, thanks." Carter Raven dropped a pack of mints onto the counter.
"90 pence, mate." the cashier dropped the mints into the bag.
"Sure," Carter dipped a hand into his pocket and handed over a pound coin. "Here you are."
"10 pence change." the cashier dropped the change and a receipt into the bag and handed it to Carter. "Have a good day."
"I will, thanks." Pushing open the door, Carter stepped out into the street.
He opened up the paper bag, tucked the money into his pocket and fumbled around for his mints. Something cold touched his hands. Cautiously, Carter drew it from the bag. In his hand lay a translucent stone. Suddenly, the stone began to glow.

Carter awoke to freezing water cooling his bare toes. He opened his eyes and gingerly sat up. As he looked around, he noticed waves lapping the sandy shore. He was at the beach. How and why he was here remained a mystery as Carter diverted his eyes to something glistening in the sand. The twenty-three year old man leant forward and ran his fingers through the sand until he hit something hard and cold. It was his stone. Once again, the stone began to glow, however this time a piercing screech accompanied the bright light.

Carter could feel the sunlight flooding the room. His arm was trapped beneath the weight of his body and as Carter shifted his weight he could instantly recognise that the stone had once again transported him to yet another unfamiliar surrounding. Carter reluctantly forced his eyes open to reveal himself to be in what looked like a hotel room. Whose hotel room it was wasn't apparent and seeing as being in a stranger's hotel room scared Carter, once again he searched for the stone. Finding it, he grabbed onto it tightly, preparing to be transported once again.

"Are you alright Carter?" A frail yet familiar voice called.
Carter opened his eyes, he was back outside the shop. "I-I'm great, Miss Stock." he took one look at the women standing in front of him and ran back into the shop.

The cashier was no where to be seen.
