This is so well framed, in balance but not centered. Beautiful subject too. +fav

from GimmeFeedback:
I think it is not colourful enough, and also I think left corner seem a little empty...
Hope it helps!

nice job, fave...
from GimmeFeedback:
It seems quite dark for me, maybe add more light?
and it's the same about the border, it makes it darker...
Try to make it again with flesh, maybe add some drops of water.. for the effect

Thanks for your comments. I will have to try again with your suggestions...will be awhile though. Just the beginnings of a bud starting on that one!
Cheers!

The orchid is beautiful but the one thing I find distracting is the black border. To my very untutored eye, it appears to be out of proportion with the image. It's also just clipping the top of the bud on the right (although I fully appreciate that that might be deliberate or how the photo turned out!).

do you think it would look better removed? Or is it that you think it's too thick for the image? No cutting of the top of the other orchid side on was not deliberate however it is a bit distracting now that you mention it. Thanks for the comment.

I like the border because it helps to frame the image - it's just that, for my taste, there's a bit too much of it. You could probably reduce it by about a third on both sides and this would still leave enough space for your signature.
The top of the bud missing is just me being a completist!! I'm sure we've all taken images and only a long time afterwards noticed that something was missing off the edge! Don't take it out because it's a nice contrast and balance with the large size of the open flower.
Hope these comments are helpful.

I'm also from =GimmeFeedback . I don't see anything "wrong" with it. if you're concerned about balance, you could slide the orchid over to the left a little bit so you're not losing the left side of the photograph. I really think it's a beautiful orchid!

From gimmefeedback:
There's nothing wrong with the balance here - I like the gap at the left. In fact I think it completes the picture perfectly.
