Oh!! I can't believe it!! This is your picture!! I'm glad I finally could see who took it! I found it once in the net and totally fell in love with it, I've been using the girl as an avatar in several forums, too (I hope you don't mind... I mean, when I found it, it wasn't credited, so I thought it was just a picture lost in the Web)... I didn't know it was made by a Deviant!! I'm so happy I finally found its photographer!!

I definitely like it but I think I would like it more if her toes were covered by the skirt and her arms where so highlighted because of the light. Maybe done some burning to make those sections a little darker.

I love this! The mood of this is sad, but i wouldn't say morbid. The hall behind her looks so cold and empty. At first i thought this was a photo but i guess not. You did a great job!

I love the lighting (and shadows), the pose, and the fact that it's black and white. I think color would take away from the mood and effect. It's beautiful!!

a lot of smart things could be said about this... I imagine someone like ~gaston would.
I'll keep it simple though.
The pillars and the arches in the ceiling are the parts in the archtecture that I like the most - maybe together with the floortiles (love that you put so much effort on getting the right lighting and shade on floortiles) and the windows... The depth of field, as someone else mentioned, is very impressive too. But the thing that caught my eye first of all was the folds on her dress/skirt - them folds just blows me away....

i LOVE this deviation.
first off... i find such a timeless beauty in black and white. the setting is lonely and empty despite its massive and grand architectural perfection. the scene isnt comforting to the person who hurts so much.. in fact it seems to be providing nothing more then coldness. i imagine her cries echoing through the chambers. she looks trapped.
the shading is great, the glare from the windows adds so much grace to this piece

now this is just damn grewat.. you've captured the expression of her posture but the scenery especially the ceiling looks like it's not a part of the pic in that the shading's off compared to the picture.
