Description
Finally, some more fan art for Diana Gabaldon's Outlander novels! I love Jamie and Claire, and when I read this scene in one of the books, I had such a clear idea of it in my mind that I had to do some art for it. It's not 100% accurate to the description in the novel, though I can't remember exactly what book it was in, or where...**Slight spoiler warning**
I do remember, though, that this is the scene where Jamie and Claire are traversing the backwoods of North Carolina, looking for a place to build their home. Jamie finds what will soon be called Frasers Ridge, a place dotted with wild strawberries, the fruit having personal meaning to him in regards to his surname. Claire is only supposed to be wrapped in a cloak, but the pose I wanted was very difficult to find in stock, so I settled for the sitting fully clothed. Also, I know her hair should be more curly. Sorry
EDIT: Thanks to those who told me where this scene is; Drums of Autumn, page 257.
Comments are always appreciated!
****Question: What do people think of the shadow under Jaime? I just noticed it looks kinda bad...which way should it go? Thanks!

Wow, spectacular. As for the shadow... well, the tree's shadow makes it seem like the sun is almost directly overhead. Jamie should match the tree...

Yeah, I noticed that too. I've just been too lazy and busy to fix some of the problems.

I'm pretty sure it was Drums of Autumn, since I just finished reading that. XD As to what page? I have no clue. I love this, actually. It gave life to one of the best scenes in the book!

Thank you for deciding to use my medieval model stock! I've never read the series, but this scene looks wonderful to me.
Oh, if you're planning to redo the shadow... I would suggest that it be placed a bit farther behind him, perhaps 4:30-5:00 position, more inline with the tree's shadow. If you have PS, you can create the shadow on a new layer and use transparency so that it seems natural.

I've always sort of hand drawn the shadows in, never really done much of it with PS. But I appreciate the suggestion, and I will implement it sometime in the near future, lol. When I have more time.
You should read the books, they ar great!

Oh, hmm...I just barely finished re-reading the series today, and the new book that just came out, but so much happens in the novels! I have a hard time placing what happens in what book. I think around Voyager, if that is the 3rd book, that's about when they go to America, perhaps, possibly the 4th book.
