This can't keep up forever... The good news is more and more people are switching to vegan. There are so many options in the stores right now I will never be able to try them all.

Love this! According to science, becoming a vegetarian is better for the earth than switching to a hybrid car. Cuts back on CO2, polluted water, erosion, deforestation, etc That's not even taking into account the benefits to human health! (Imagine what going Vegan could do!) Well done!

That just makes me sad.

Eating too much corn isn't good for you!

poderiu In reply to thehurricanes [2010-03-04 18:20:48 +0000 UTC]

You missed the point..
meat production uses to much amount corn and soya, water and energy for animals. We are spendind to much resources for meat production for the most developed countries abuse in meat consuption, other people in less developed countries donΒ΄t eaven have vegetables or cereals to feed them selfs. Also, the massive meat production is ruin enviornment (deforestations is one example).

thehurricanes In reply to poderiu [2010-03-04 18:25:41 +0000 UTC]

I knew it's not the main point of your diagram, but we're also putting too much corn in our food ... corn for producing fructose and corn for feeding the cows. The cows are not healthy being fed by corns, and so aren't the people who eat them.

poderiu In reply to thehurricanes [2010-03-04 18:38:02 +0000 UTC]

corn, soya and weat are used to feed animals for meat production, not only cows. I am vegan and I donΒ΄t eat only corn, vegan people can eat undureds of dishes, that includes undureds of ingridients.. hmm?

what you say it's a very valid point. I hope more people would OPEN THEIR EYES and see what we're doing to the Earth

That you for your comment. We would know what to do when we have babies... is to give them a vegan education.. right?

c02 is a necessary part of the life cycle on earth.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

supuhfly In reply to OcularInflux [2009-11-03 16:53:50 +0000 UTC]

But not at a mass level like this.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

OcularInflux In reply to supuhfly [2009-11-04 09:16:03 +0000 UTC]

Plant more trees. c02 is the first step in the lifecycle. More c02 means more life. The sun creates increased c02 when it is in peak solar seasons, which causes plants to grow better, which create more oxygen, which we and other animals breathe and exhale c02 which further enriches the plantlife of the planet.

OcularInflux In reply to supuhfly [2009-11-10 11:14:27 +0000 UTC]

Why the hell would you want to do that? That's just stupidity.

I don't think anyone on the planet turns on their air conditioner at the same time as their heater.

Do you really think people do that? Hell, that would cause someone to grow broke before it did much to the environment.
